When you get a mystry gift it says press A,to link IR-DEVISE,ut what is the IR-DEVISE.

Mystery gift requires two gameboy colors (I don't know think you can use it with a gameboy advance) and two of the three following pokemon games:

Gold, silver, or crystal. In order for it to work, you have to align the two gameboys to that their IR-devices are directly facing each other. Now, look at the top of your gameboy. You will see a small black rectangle. That is the IR-device. Basically it is a laser transmitter, and allows cordless connections between two gameboys. Once the two IRs are facing each other (it is probably easiest to achieve this by placing both gameboys face-up on a flat surface and arranging them so that the IRs are touching), you can begin the mystery gift, and press 'A'.

You do know you have to use Gameboy Color, not GBA.
