10 Non-Scary Halloween Games

7. Planescape: Torment

Planescape: Torment may very well be one of the best PC Western RPGs to come out on the market, but it oftentimes gets ignored by the general gamer audience. In the past it was likely due to the game being released on computers during a time where PC gaming wasn't nearly as big… and nowadays, it's more likely due to the game starting to show its age. But with the successful Kickstarter for a spiritual successor, Planescape has been receiving more attention over the past year or so… and there's no better time to pick it up than during the Halloween festivities.

As The Nameless One, you have to explore an unusual, dark landscape, searching for your missing memories and why you cannot die. You'll meet an quirky cast of characters along the way, and their unique dialogues and chats with party members and NPCs alike are endearing. The battle system also follows the typical Dungeons and Dragons rules, meaning that you can build up your character's stats somewhat freely, and things like Intiative and AC play important roles in the flow of battle.

Planescape: Torment doesn't really go for any kind of 'spooky' themes, but the underlying story and setting offer enough of a creepy spirit to make it a different sort of choice for a Halloween gaming marathon.
