GTA Online Stimulus Package Update

Considering that GTA-V recently hit the 29-Million sales mark, that means that there are 29-Million potential GTA Online players out there! That is good news for gamers who like a little variety!

That was the good news -- the bad news is that the GTA$ Stimulus Package that pretty much every early-adopter class player in GTAO has been waiting for has once again been pushed back a little.

The wizards at Rockstar have updated the word on this $500K windfall that a lot of gamers are hoping to use to score a killer ride and an awesome Safe House from the funds, which are planned to be distributed in two payments of $250,000 each for players who played the game in October.

The Stimulus Package is intended as partial compensation for the very rocky road that players had with a number of game-breaking bugs as well as the constant game freezes that take place during mission transitions (the latter issue still effecting gamers), with the money being Rockstar's way of saying 'Opps! Our bad but thanks for sticking with us!'

While gamers have been anxiously awaiting the first payment in the package, it seems obvious that that would not have been available until at least November 1st anyway, since the payments are to go to all of the players who played during October, and it is unlikely that Rockstar would want to do multiple batches for the gimme.

That many gamers thought November 1st would be the golden day seems to have been torpedoed with the most recent announcement from the game's publisher, which states that the first installment of the Stimulus Package will not appear until after the next game update, which likely means later this week or early next week, making next week the earliest likely time for a payment.

'We know many of you are anxiously waiting for us to show you the GTA$ Stimulus Package money we announced a couple weeks back,' Rockstar announced in its GTA News Wire Blog.

'As mentioned in that post, we of course want to ensure that game progress loss issues are sufficiently sorted before distributing the GTA$ to everyone. We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash.'

So the cash is coming, just not as soon as most players would like.
