Unlockable Elemental Arrows

The Elemental Arrows in Ocarina of Time are useful (and the Light Arrows are essential) in completing the game. Below is where, and how, you unlock them:

Fire Arrows: To get the Fire Arrows, you need to stand on the platform above the Water Temple entrance, or just in front of it. Shoot a plain arrow at the sun as it just begins to rise. You can then go to the island in the lake where the arrow lands to collect the upgrade. Note: You can either complete the Water Temple to fill up Lake Hylia, or you can use the Song of Storms to 'fill' it. You need to shoot your arrow at the sun before the rain stops, however. You can then collect the arrow using Scarecrow's Song and the Longshot.

Ice Arrows: Complete Gerudo's Training Ground to unlock Ice Arrows.

Light Arrows: Complete every temple and speak to Sheik for your reward.

Extra Bottle Locations

There are four bottles that you can collect in Ocarina of Time. These are immensely useful throughout the game.

The first one is nice and easy. As Young Link, speak to the Cucco Lady in Kakariko Village. She asks you to collect all of her chickens and return them to her pen. Upon completion of this challenge, you will receive your first Empty Bottle!

The second one is found in Lake Hylia. Locate the passage from Zora's Domain and you should find it nearby. It has Ruto's Letter inside it initially.

Number three is your reward for completing the Super Cucco Game at Lon Lon Ranch.

Finally, you get the fourth having found 10 Big Poes and given them back to the man in the Ghost Shop at Hyrule Castle.

Easy Zombie Killing

The Zombies in Ocarina of Time can be pretty annoying, but luckily there is an easy way to kill them. Once they emerge from the ground, play the Sun's Song to force them to stop, allowing you to take them out with ease.

Big Poe Quest

This quest is activated by the man in the Ghost Shop in Hyrule Castle (you must be Adult Link). He gives you a loyalty card which, once filled with 1,000 points, will earn you a reward. To get 100 points you can give the shopkeeper are Big Poe. There are 10 of these to collect, filling up the card. The locations are below:

Note - the Big Poes are only found in Hyrule Field, and you must be riding Epona to encounter them.

1. At the boulder where the road hits a fork between Lon Lon Ranch and the Lost Woods.

2. On the way out of the Lost Woods, go past the boulder mentioned above in a straight line. You can find the Big Poe located between a single tree and a collection of trees.

3. Find number three to the right of the trees mentioned above as you approach from Lake Hylia.

4. Located by the sign near Hyrule Castle pointing towards Lon Lon Ranch.

5. By the stream with the black bushes to the right of the exit at Hyrule Castle.

6. Head to the left of Lon Lon Ranch as you approach from Hyrule Castle. You will find the Big Poe where the stone wall changes direction.

7. By the single tree outside Lon Lon Ranch.

8. Next to the ledge to the right of Kakariko Village.

9. The Big Poe is near the entrance to Gerudo Valley, where the path forks.

10. At the single tree below the ledge outside the way into Gerudo Valley.

Once you have all ten, return to the Ghost Shop and collect your reward - an extra Empty Bottle!

Biggoron's Sword

You need to be Adult Link, have freed King Zora, and have unlocked Epona to do this quest. It also helps to have the Sun's Song, though it is not essential.

First, go and speak to the Cucco Lady in Kakariko Village. Take the Pocket Egg from her, before playing the Sun's Song to move the game forward to the next day. The egg will then hatch into a Pocket Cucco.

With the Pocket Cucco, go and speak to Talon (he is sleeping in Kakariko Village - use the Pocket Cucco to wake him). Return the Cucco to the Cucco Lady, who will then give you Cojiro, another Cucco, to pass on to her brother.

You now need to head into the Lost Woods. Turn left once inside. Give the Cucco to the blue figure on the stump. In return, he gives you an Odd Mushroom, asking you to deliver it to the witch doctor in Kakariko.

A timer then begins, giving you 3 minutes to return to Kakariko and pass on the mushroom before it goes off. You can find the witch doctor behind the potion shop.

The witch doctor will make you an Odd Potion from the Odd Mushroom (makes sense...). Go back to the Lost Woods, turning left again. There will be a girl in the blue man's place. Give her the potion and she will give you the Poacher's Saw.

Head to the canyon in Gerudo's Valley. Cross the bridge, if it is in place, or use Epona or the Longshot to get across the gap. Speak to the carpenter in his tent. Give him the Saw and he will give you the Broken Goron's Sword.

You then need to go to the top of the mountain using the Bolero of Fire. Move round the right side of the cliff. Speak to Biggoron, who should come to find you here. He agrees to fix the sword but only in return for Eyedrops.

Take his Prescription and go to Zora's Domain. Show the Prescription to Zora, who gives you the ingredients for the Eyedrops. Take the Eyeball Frog to the scientist by the lake at Hylia. Again, you only have 3 minutes to get there before the frog goes bad. The Serenade of Water also makes it spoil, as that would be cheating!

Give the scientist the frog. Once you have the Eyedrops, rush back to Biggoron. The Eyedrops (for some reason) only last 4 minutes, so go as fast as you can. The Bolero of Fire spoils the Eyedrops as well, so you have to go the old fashioned way.

Biggoron agrees to produce a new sword for you. After 3 days, you can return to him with his Claim Check to get the sword. Use the Sun's Song if you are too impatient to wait!

Congratulations, you now have the incredible Biggoron's Sword!

Treasure chest game hint

You can play the game in the market of Hyrule castle where you have to guess which treasure chest holds the key. Helpful hint: use the lens of truth to spot the key and win to get a piece of heart!

When Cuckoos Attack!

If you want to test your survival skills (more likely escaping skills) hit a Cuckoo 2 or 3 times with your sword. The one you're hitting will call for it's friends to come and attack you.

NOTE: You might want alot of life energy because they take a WHOLE heart at a time! Pretty powerful for a chicken.

Easy way to catch "Running Man".

He's always running along Lon Lon Ranch clockwise making quite a bit of noise, he follows the road too so go COUNTER clockwise and you'll find him easier.

PURPOSE: You can give him the Bunny Hood hat from the Happy Mask Shop.

NOTE: You need to have all spiritual stones for him to jog around

Boss Gauntlet

The Gauntlet pits you against all 8 bosses in a row with no help. You start with at least the Boomerang, the Lens of Truth, Slinghshot, Deku Nuts and Sticks(empty), Bombs(empty), the Bow, Hookshot, Megaton Hammer, all Tunics, Deku and Mirror Shield, and Kokiri and Master Sword. Also, you always have 5 hearts(unless you get a container) and start with a full magic meter. My reccomendations are marked by and asterik for the chests. Finally, I put a mark behind the most valuable thing to me in the chests.

Gohma-L-Target her and use the Slingshot everytime her eye glows red. Use jump moves.
*Small-5, 10, or 20! Bombs Big-Deku Seeds!

King Dodongo-If you got bombs, throw them while he charges his fireball, and run to the edge of the pit to dodge the rollout.
*Small-Heart Container!, Empty Bottle, or 1 Recovery Heart Big-Deku Nuts!

Barinade-Use the Boomerang to stun the jellies, and attack the pots before you leave to pick up extra hearts. *Small-Bottle or Heart Container! Big-Bottle! Or Recovery Heart

Phantom Ganon-Use FP mode when finding the real Phantom, and swing your sword to volley the magic.
Small-Longshot! Or Big Quiver *Big-Giant's Knife!, Heart Container, 1 Recovery Heart, or Bottle

Volvagia-close in slowly so you don't lose much health, and use your sword if he flies close the the earth. *Small-Longshot!, Big Quiver, Hover Boots, Green Potion Big-Giant's Knife!, Blue Potion, 1 Recovery Heart.

Morpha-Hopefully you got the Longshot in the last chest to assist here, but if not, be cautious.
*Small-Heart Container!, Hover Boots, Big Quiver, or random Potion Big-Heart Container!, Arrows, or Recovery Heart.

Bongo Bongo-Combine the Lens of Truth with L-Targeting to stay on the boss, and use the Hover Boots if you got them. *Small-Heart Container!, Red Potion Big-Blue Potion!, ?

Twinrova-Use the Mirror Shield to reflect or charge the attacks, and, as a sweet bonus, use the Giant's Knife if you got it to Jump Attack Twinrova.

Congrats! You beat Boss Battle Mode!

Fire Temple Secret Room

This tells you how to get into the room in the temple that is grayed out.
EQUIPMENT-Goron Tunic, Longshot

When you get to the top of the room with the columns, go back to the door where you ran from the fire on top. Turn right(left on master quest) and play the scarecrow song. Longshot up to the scarecrow, and then to a hookshot mark. Ride the elevator up and climb the nets(kill the gold spider for a token) and enter the room. It will look like where you got the hammer. Get the token on the wall in the pit, and activate the button. Longshot up and take the 200 rupees.

Also jump down for a quick way to the entrance, but have lotsa helth.

Ganon - Easy Defeat Method

-- Ganon's Easy Defeat Method --
Requirement: Biggoron Sword.

1: After the battle has started, equip the Biggoron Sword.

2 (Optional): Use the Biggoron Sword to hit him a few times. He should wiggle his head a bit and not attack.

3: Roll between his legs and quickly hit his tail with the sword.

4: Repetitively hit his tail until he falls down. You will reclaim the Master sword at this stage.

After reclaiming the Master Sword:
A) You can use the Master Sword to attack his tail instead, while having the shield ready to defend before rolling between his legs.

B) Switch back to Biggoron Sword and hit him another 2 or 3 times. Then switch back to the Master Sword to hit him a final time.

Note: The last hit must be made by the Master Sword.

Afterwards, Zelda holds him down for you to finish him off. Once done, you have defeated Ganon... SO EASILY!

Get a big Deku Seed Bullet Bag

Before reading, note this requires a slingshot-

Go to the Lost Woods, and turn right. You will see a tree with a hanging circular log. Aim your slingshot at the very center of the log and shoot it 3 times, you will see 100! Pop up 3 times, followed by a cutscene of a Octorok looking things congratulating you, followed by obtaining a large Deku Seed Bullet bag.

Sneaking past Gerudo Guards

If you are having trouble with this just shoot them with your arrows. If you don't have arrows hit them with your hookshot.

If you get the hover boots before you do this it really helps.

2nd fight with Ganondorf

1.When he knocks your sword out of your hand either use your hammer or if you have it your Biggoron Sword.

2.After you get your sword back you have to shoot him with your lighting arrows to get behind him,but if you either run out of magic or arrows just stay close to him

3.He will keep trying to hit you but miss. Then eventually you will go between his legs and now you can hit his tail.

Funny way to beat Ganondorf

Remember while fighting him you had to use your sword to hit his lighting ball back at him?

Well try using your bottle! If you have an empty bottle you can swing it at his magic ball and it will hit it back at him! This is a great way to beat the "King of Evil" With a bottle!
