In Zoo Tycoon DS 2, you build a zoo and people visit it. Much more merry and fun then the Zoo Tycoon 1 where lions escaped their cages. Anyway, for a tycoon, it is better than someone might expect. Don't judge a game by it's cover. Mainly, build food places, make cages, and put male and female in each. Plus, you can advertise.
Nice. The graphics have good quality, and you can see things clearly. In zookeeper mode, the graphics are jaw-dropping as you can see the detail (not the flamingo). Zooming out gives less graphical features, but good anyway.
If you like sound, this is the kind of game. You can select what song to choose, and backround sound have a little "silly touch" to it. Animal sounds tell you when an animal gets a baby, and pop-up sounds when you recieve an award. Not the best music for the game, but selectivity with 20 songs is not bad.
Fun. Anyone who played SimCity DS may have recognized the Save the City Missons. Here, there is the Save the Zoo. The Zoos are much smaller than a city, of course, but that means there are more zoos to save. The game should have added monorail rides, or other buildings. Not an annoyance, though.
To me, every game is short. This one wasn't too short, but the zoo shouldn't have a "Maximum Animal Amount." Worth buying, and not too long for anyone. The award part of the zoo is a good hour of your life, but you can have better bragging rights, right?
The game has a mistake, if you don't notice. When a dolphin gives birth, it shows up in another cage. Just use the hand to the dolphin area, or your game will FREEZE. Besides that, there is nothing to argue about this tycoon game. Fun, not too long, and some other acceptions make it a good game.
