How do you Choose your AC-130 Loadout?
You will begin with a 5.56mm machine gun and then then as you progress through the game you will have a whole range of cannons and missles at you disposal. The key for a good zombie take-down strategy is to vary your loadout and to choose it wisely.
How do you Deploy your Troops?
The ground troops you will be protecting from the air in the AC-130 gunship each have different loadouts and abilities which you should look to take advantage of whenever possible. This may be their ability to loot buildings faster than others or being able to assist your AC-130 if there is a weakness in its loadout. Remember that the primary mission of your ground troops is to raid enemy bases and loot their resources.
How do you Prevent Weapons from Overheating?
One of the biggest problems you will face in the AC-130 when you are engaged in a firefight are weapons overheating. Machine guns in particular have a tendency to overheat very quickly so it is important that you keep a close eye on the red gauge to avoid those few seconds of cooldown which will expose your troops because you are unable to provide them with cover.
Avoid Friendly Fire
When your ground troops are surrounded on all sides by an advancing zombies you need to ensure you stay calm and and avoid unleashing heavy cannons or missiles that come within range of your troops.
How do you Kill the Titans?
Unlike the standard 'Shambler' type zombies the giant beasts called 'Titans' are very resistant to machine gun fire so be prepared to use big guns to eliminate them whenever you encounter them.
