Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Cheats, Tips Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why you should spend your gems on Secret Packs and why you should save Craft points for staple cards. As well as these hints and tips, we also have a Beginner Guide here which goes into more details on some of the tips we have below:

  • Take Advantage of Solo Mode

Regardless if you are an experienced Yu-Gi-Oh! player or a new one it is recommended that you begin by playing Solo mode. Although the in-game tutorials that are provided are not very detailed, the Solo mode makes up for it as it works as a great teaching tool for the game.

In Solo mode you will be given the opportunity to get familiar with different decks and playstyles which will allow you to get used to the modern game in a controlled environment. This is important because unlike the old days, the modern game has plenty of different summoning mechanics and interactions that are essential that you know about. Solo mode also serves as a sandbox, which you can take advantage of to test new decks.

  • Build a Deck for your Playstyle

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel features over 10,000 different cards, which makes the possibilities for decks seem almost endless. Make sure before you start constructing your deck you find a style of play that suits you, and build decks that fit that style.

If you are a new player you should use Solo mode to try out different styles and then research the one that works for you. Check out our How to get 50 Free Packs of Cards guide to find out how you can claim this reward if you have a PlayStation console.

  • Utilize Online Resources

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is a hugely popular game and as such there is a ton of online resources available you can utilize that will tell you everything you need to know about the different types of decks that can be created. Once you have found a deck you are comfortable with you should stick with it and look to strengthen it whenever possible.

  • Use the Spectate Feature

Creating a deck that suits your style of play and getting the theory behind it is great but with so many cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel it becomes a challenge, learning what every set is capable of doing. Knowing what your opponent is throwing at you is crucial during battle, as you need to understand how to play around their attacks.

Take advantage of the Spectate feature to view different types of decks at play and learn about chokepoints and timings. The match you view is a random one that happened between higher-ranked players, you are free to pause, read cards and duel logs, and watch interaction play out in real time without playing the match yourself.

  • Spend Gems on Secret Packs

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is a free-to-play game with the option to invest real money. If you intend to play for free and be successful, it is crucial you use the gems you earn to purchase Secret Packs for your deck at the ingame shop. Secret Packs are special packs that are unlocked by obtaining SR or UR card of an archetype or theme. Using your gems to buy Secret Packs will improve your chances of pulling the specific cards you need.

Check out our How to Unlock Secret Packs guide to find out how you can get the cards you desire from Secret Packs.

  • Save Craft Points for Staple Cards

Craft points in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel are rewarded as you progress through missions, the battle pass, or through dismantling cards your deck no longer requires. Craft points can be used to fill gaps in a deck by crafting the missing card.

If however the card you are after can be easily obtained through other means, it is more beneficial to save your Craft points for staple cards as these can be slotted into any deck you build in the future.
