Memories of Celceta Tips

Have a Diverse Party
You start Ys: Memories of Celceta with Adol and Duren and then as you progress meet four additional allies who will join your party who can be swapped out accordingly. There are three different attack types in Ys: Memories Of Celceta and it is smart to cover all three damage types with your party setup. Adol and Frieda commit slash damage, Duren and Calilica use strike moves, whilst Ozma and Karna utilise pierced attacks. You do not need to worry about XP as non-active members level up with you.

Explore Everywhere
As you advance through the Great Forest your map will automatically fill out so it is essential that you explore each area as thoroughly as possible as doing so will net you some useful items and money. For each 10% you cover Griselda, the Governor-General will reward you with an increasing amount of gold. Before reaching the last dungeon you will be able to map our 99.8% of the game.

Ys: Memories of Celceta tips

Pick your Battles
The Great Forest is unexplored and full of wild beasts which can earn you EXP by slaying them. Before engaging in combat it is important that you press L3 to bring up the details of the enemy so you can determine whether you can defeat them. If you discover the enemy surpasses you by several levels it is in your best interests to retreat as they will wipe your health out within a few hits.

Refine your Weapons
Always look to improve your weapons performance by making use of the game's refinement system which allows you to fuse materials to equipment. As you progress through the Great Forest you will come upon settlements where you can trade materials, healing items, and weaponry. Be sure to visit the blacksmith before leaving a settlement so they can perform any refinements to your weapons. In Ys: Memories Of Celceta weapons and armour hold 8 different stats for offensive/defensive capabilities, and through
Refinement you will be able to improve things such as general attack power and resistance to status effects. Don't worry too much about refining weapons early in the game as you will consistantly get better ones soon enough.
