Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Take a look at our cheats and tips to get help in the game.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is an isometric role-playing game that is the sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker. The country of Mendev has been fighting a series of wars against the Worldwound, a magical portal that allows demons to travel from their home in the Abyss to the mortal world. These wars, called crusades, have been slowly losing ground, primarily because demons killed in the mortal world return to life in the Abyss. The story is told in a classical CRPG fashion, with a lot of choices and consequences.
Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include the best way in which to defeat demons and why you need to be conservative with your special abilities and spells.
Before the character creation process begins in Pathfinder: Path of the Righteous you will are presented with several choices for the difficulty setting. Select 'Story Mode' if you want to play an easy game where you will be able to coast through the plot. For a more challenging game you need to select 'Unfair' mode. Keep in mind that you can use varying difficulty levels as you advance in the story.
The character builds in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous are made up of your Class Features, Abilities, Ability Scores, Feats, Spells and your Weapons, Armor and Skills. How you build the character that join your party will determine how they play. If you are a new player this is a lot to take in, so it is recommended that you simply let the computer handle the character builds and then just make minor changes based on the same role.
Unlike other RPGs there is no time constraint in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous so there is no reason to rush, this allows you to focus on the intersecting storylines and character arcs without worrying about a timer. If you see an hourglass anywhere in your log it is only to inform you that a quest needs to be completed before the close of the chapter.
One tool that is not immediately obvious which you can take advantage of in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the option to slow down combat. This is especially useful if you are a beginner as it enables you to see everything that's going on, this includes dice rolls and passive abilities which appear in real-time log at the bottom of the screen.
The vast majority of the enemies that you encounter in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will be demons that have a lot of resistance to both physical and magical damage. In order to make these battles easier you need to focus on any powers, abilities, or trinkets that your character may have that deals or enhances holy damage.
When looting and weight is a concern you should focus on only grabbing uniques and low weight high value items such as longbows, scimitars, etc.
It is important that you are aware that special combat abilities and spells in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous are limited, this means you need to make sure you use them wisely. Each has a number of uses per rest and once used your character is confined to using their cantrips or free but weaker spells. In order to replenish your special combat abilities strength and spell casting capacity again your character will need to rest at a camp.
