Try to keep all your characters leveled and equiped and pick balanced parties. It is advised that you try to make sure you have both a healer and a ranged attacker in your party at all times.

Keep an eye out for the big red or yellow circles that appear over your enemies heads and try to attack them then. If it is a yellow circle you will do heavy damage and if it is a red circle you will instantly kill them. This is the easiest way to take down enemies quickly and finish missions. Don't just mash the attack button when battling your foe as you will prevent this vulnerability from triggering.

The best tactic when you are attacked is to get out to the way of their attacks rather than casting walls or trying to block them. Pay attention to your enemies movement patterns and try to anticipate when they're going to strike, and then roll to the side or behind them so they can't hit you.

As you wander around the world you will encounter people that have exclamation points above their heads. When you talk to these people they will give you random items, it will also knock the mission timer down a couple of hours so you need to decide whether the items these people give you are worth the loss in time.

Don't be intimidated by the time-stamp on the bottom right corner of the screen every time you finish a mission and are returned to your home base academy. The timer will only tick down when you:

A) Talk to people with exclamation points over their heads.

B) Step outside of town and then come back.

The timer will not move at all when you are exploring the map or wandering around.
