The progression system in this expansion is the same as before which means that it is based on Experience. Like most MMO or RPG you earn Experience by defeating enemies and completing quests. The best strategy for this expansion is to focus on grinding your way up to Level 40 which is the level cap and forget about things like weapons until you reach it.

In total there are 50 Calcified Fragments to find, the video below will show you how to find 1-23 which are on the Dreadnaught and don't require any sort of special events. These Calcified Fragments can just be picked up off the ground.

Don't be tempted with side missions and quests unless there is chance of getting an incredible new weapon or piece of armour from them. Your main goal it to become as strong as possible.

When you select a faction you will have to stay with it for a minimum period of a week so before you decide which of the three factions you want to use you need to think about your challenge and the enemies you will likely meet so you are able to choose the best suited faction before you embark on your journey.

In total there are 10 Dreadnaught Chest locations to find and to open 9 of them you will need to get a Wormsinger Rune, which is earned when you have killed Hive in Dreadnaught (random drop). To then transform the Wormfeeder Rune into a Key you have to kill 50 Enemies in Dreadnaught (Cabal or Hive). Note: the key you get when you accomplish this is completely random.

A good way to acquire legendary and exotic weapons and armour quickly is to face Nightfall strikes as soon as possibile.
