Atlas Cheats and Tips

PC, Xbox One
Last Updated: by Dennis

Atlas is a massively multiplayer first-and-third-person fantasy pirate adventure where you are dropped into a world inhabited by thousands of other players. Your objective is to conquer territory, build ships, recruit a crew, search for buried treasure and plunder your way around the world. Check out our Atlas cheats and tips page to learn ways to make those things easier.

Cheats, Tips and Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you. These include how to monitor the needs of your character and creating clothing and weapons at the beginning of the game.

Character Needs

The most important thing you need to do while playing Atlas is to constantly monitor your character to keep an eye on their needs. Three of the categories; hunger, thirst and health must never reach 0. You can view this information by looking at the bars that are found in the lower right corner of the screen. If you starve or dehydrate your character it will cause you to take constant damage until those needs are satisfied. Allowing the entire health bar to deplete will result in your character dying.

Early Clothing and Weapons

You will have almost no clothing and no weapons when you begin your adventure. It is advised until you have created some clothing and crafted a stone pick, stone hatchet or spear to use as a weapon from trees and stones you avoid animals as most of them will either attack you immediately or counter attack if you are hostile towards them. The only animals you will be able to hunt safely are sheep from which you can create cloth clothing for your character.

Attacking Creatures

It is advised that before you attack a creature you scout the area its in to make sure it does not belong to a herd that is nearby or is not marked as 'Alpha'. Creatures that are marked as 'Alpha' are several times more powerful than their regular version making them considerably more dangerous. Killing these creatures is worth the effort though as doing so will enable your character to advance several levels.

Repair Equipment

Make sure you monitor the health bar of equipment such as tools and weapons as constant use causes them to deteriate. Once the bar is emptied you will find that some items will be broken and gone forever whereas others just become useable. To repair an item you must have the same types of materials that were used in the creation of the item. Once this requirement has been met just select it and choose the 'Repair' option from the list.

Choosing Early Abilities

Your character will recieve skill points as they progress and advance to higher experience levels. These can then be used to unlock new abilities and access better tools and weapons. Abilities should consider at the beginning of the game are 'The Basics', 'Tools of the Trade', 'Water Keeper', and 'Basics of Building'.

Take Care of your Ship

Your ship allows you to travel the oceans and combat other players on the sea. It is therefore important that you take care of it. This means making sure it gets repaired whenever it has been damaged during voyages and encounters with other players. Also remember that each ship has a wieght limit and if you exceed it your vessel will sink.

Monitor your Hunger

Keep a close eye on your hunger bar as overeating is almost as bad for your character as being hungry. If your character eats too much they will lose health points. Consuming too much of a given vitamin is also a problem, eating too many fruits for instance will cause the screen to be tinted in green, severely reducing your visibility and the ability to navigate. You can monitor your characters vitamins by looking at the vitamin bars found at the bottom right of the screen.

We hope these tips help you out in the game, we also have a Questions & Answers page for Atlas where you can submit your own questions for other players to answer.
