i.	About Viva Piata [abvp]
============

Viva Piata is a simulation game developed by Rare Ltd. and published by
Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360. It was released on the console in
November 2006 and was ported to the PC just a year later. Viva Piata, as one
would assume, is presented in a very colorful and vivacious way (a la Animal
Crossing). There is a related TV series that airs on FOX in the United States.
The game has been fairly well-received by popular video game sites and
magazines but did not generate a large fanbase. A portable version of the
game is set to debut on the DS sometime in September 2008. An Xbox 360 sequel
is set to be released around the same time. All games have been given an ESRB
rating of E for Everyone.

============
ii.	Controls [ctrl]
============
There are two sets of controls: "Simple" and "Advanced"

Simple controls cater to small children and are more annoying than useful.
The Advanced setup utilizes the left analog stick for movement and the right
analog stick for camera. The simplified setup also avoids use of the left and
right triggers. The following controls represent the more complex scheme:

Left Analog -	Move your character
Right Analog -	Rotate camera
A Button - Your action button. It is context-sensitive, meaning that it
has different uses for different situations.
B Button -	Your cancel button. It is used to release whatever item you
are holding or cancel certain actions.
Y Button -	Help menu. It will explain various things on your screen. Place
your cursor over an item and press Y to find out important
		information about it.
X Button -	Also an context-sensitive action button. When you have an item
equipped, you will use that item in a different way than if you
had pressed the A button. If you do not have an item equipped,
this will bring up the options menu.
D-Pad Right -	Uses short grass if pressed once. Uses long grass if pressed
		twice.
D-Pad Left -	Uses the watering bucket.
D-Pad Up -	Uses the shovel.
Start Button -	Brings up the game menu where you can change settings or
		manage your game files.
Back Button -	Cancel button. It will automatically exit you out of whatever
		menu you are in.

iii.	Beginning Your Adventure	[byad]
============

Viva Piata has a flawless difficulty curve. It takes only about half an hour
to get used to the controls and be on your way. As you progress, you learn more
advanced techniques to help you manage all the nuances of keeping a garden.

When the game begins, you will see a young Irish(?) girl sobbing away in the
middle of what is supposed to be a garden. Her name is Leafos. Head over to
here. Place your cursor over her so that it changes colors and press the A
button. You will use that same technique to interact with various tools,
Piatas and other items throughout the game. When you do this, Leafos will
tell you the sad story of her garden and invite you to help. Accept her
invitation and she will explain the very basics of the game.

Take her horribly twisted shovel and get to work. If you don't remember what
Leafos told you, you can go back and talk to her as she'll be standing in the
same spot while you toil away. Equip your shovel by pressing Up on the D-Pad.
You now have two jobs: 1) Break things and 2) Soften the dirt. Hold the A
button and run around the garden in order to cultivate the soil. When you
come across a piece of trash, place your cursor over it and hit away. Each
piece of trash has a health meter which will slowly drain as you continue
to pound away at it. Completely drain each item's health meter to rid your
garden of its unwanted presence.

Some pieces of trash will provide Chocolate Coins when you destroy them. Make
sure that you collect as many of these as possible by highlighting them with
your cursor. If you get bored or annoyed with Leafos then go smack her with
the shovel. It makes her cry and is deliciously satisfying.

When your land is cultivatable enough, a black and white Whirlm will appear.
It is a tiny cigar-shaped Piata which you have to entice into living in your
garden. Leafos will eventually give you a grass packet. Once you have finished
making your dirt entirely soft, pull out the packet. Press the A button to
drop some seedlings into the soil.

The Whilrm now does some kind of ceremonial dance. Quite obviously
excited by your recent efforts, the Whirlm will completely change its color
scheme. This now greenish orange-ish catastrophe indicates that the Whirlm
loves you so much that it wants to reside in your garden. Leafos suggests
will tell you a little bit about the Whirlm and suggest that you name it.

============
iv.	Getting a Home [gaho]
============

The next major event to happen to you in the game is the arrival of Willy
Builder. Willy Builder is a unique little dude...he's like a blue robot
monkey or something. Either way he is a useful asset to the upkeep of your
Piata farm. He constructs homes for Piatas to reside in. These houses
improve your Piatas' overall well-being.

Your first Piata house comes free of charge. You can place it wherever you
want to, given that the entrance isn't blocked by the area's boundaries.
Willy and Leafos will move out of the way if you want to place the house
(which is designed particularly for Whilrms) where they are standing. A timer
will appear on the Piata house while Willy is building it. It represents
the estimated completion time.

There is no limit to the number of Piatas that can live inside a Piata house.
However, only one species of Piata is allowed to live in each house. If you
want to cater your garden to different species then you will need to get Willy
Builder to construct a house specifically for that species.

============
v.	Romance, The Spice of Life	[rmnc]
============

Whenever you obtain two Piatas of the same species (Whirlms will likely be
your first duplicate species), Leafos will suggest that you entice them into
producing little baby Piatas. To do this, both Piatas must live in the
same residence in your garden. As you discover new species of Piata, you
will have to satisfy other conditions as well.

If the Whirlms are prepared to romance, a pink heart icon will appear over each
of them. Use your cursor to select both of them to initiate another
ceremonial dance and the Romance game.

The Romance game works like a maze. You have to lead one Piata to the other
within the given time constraints (1 minute). The maze is lined with some kind
of bomb-creature (Loathers, I think?). You will also encounter various
Chocolate Coins during the Romance game. Make sure to pick these up along the
way but don't make an effort to obtain all of them if you aren't going to
complete the maze on time. If you fail the maze then you don't get to keep any
of the Chocolate Coins you have obtained up until that point. Some of the
coins are not stationary and will weave their way through the maze.

The bomb-creatures may not be stationary either. Those that move are a little
harder to navigate around. There are also dark red bomb-creatures that line
the maze on occassion. You have to sneak past these by gently tilting the
left analog stick.

If you accidentally touch one of the bomb-creatures, you will suffer a time
reduction as well as the loss of one life. The number of lives that you begin
with will vary with each species. If you run out of lives then you lose the
minigame. You will be able to try again later but with less lives. If I
remember correctly then you have five lives for the Whirlm Romancing game.
Number of lives is indicated by the Piata heads on the side of the screen.

Completing the minigame will result in a cut scene in which the Piatas
perform yet another ceremonial dance. Being a kid friendly game however, you
won't see any goo-covered Piatas popping out of the mommy Piata. A visit from
the stork will suffice here (good call, Rare). Actually it's a female bird
creature that delivers you the egg. The egg will hatch in a short amount of
time. The life cycle of a Piata gets a little weird after that. The
miniature Piata will then wrap itself into a shell. After another arbitrary
amount of time, an adult Piata breaks out...only to be eaten by another,
bigger Piata sometime down the road.

Don't be afraid if your new Piata doesn't turn out exactly like his parents.
Each species of Piata has different color schemes and other varying
characteristics.

As you breed more and more Piatas, you will achieve the Master Romancer
status. This doesn't do much for you but will make the mazes a little easier
by providing you with more lives. Note that just because you are a Master
Romancer with one species does not mean that you have achieved the same status
with the game's other Piata types.

============
vi.	Basic Gardening Strategy [bsst]
============

Leafos provides you with a watering can and seeds after you complete the Whirlm
Romancing minigame. Watering plants is a science so don't take anything for
granted. You'll have to provide each plant with the correct amount of water.
Inappropriate amounts of water will handicap and may even destroy your crop.

Equip the watering can by pressing the left D-Pad button. Press the A button to
water for a short time and the X button to pour the water continuously. The
amount of water in your watering can is indicated by the blue-colored triangles
by your cursor. The B button and Back button both unequip the watering can.
Your watering can loses water as the blue triangles turn a lighter shade of
blue. The only way you can refill your watering can is by waiting.
Alternatively, you could unequip it than then quickly re-equip it. A minor
glitch that will save you time.

Plants will provide you with money and experience. Certain plants will bring
about certain Piatas and stimulate their romance requirements. Make sure to
sow your seeds into holes in the dirt. Trees will flourish much more
successfully if they start out in holes.

While watering your plants, a meter will appear that indicates how much water
the plant has been offered. When the meter is in the space between the
brown and blue marks then you need to quit watering. You can later obtain
upgrades which will take some of the intense pressure off you. ;)
Eventually you can obtain the One Pour Wonder upgrade which will make it so that
you only have to water a plant once in its lifetime.

Garden objects are typically for decoration purposes only. Some objects have
practical uses as well. Fences can keep Piatas out of certain areas. Some
objects are made to attract certain types of Piatas. Ivor Bargain sells pretty
interesting objects also, including an item that decreases the bickering
between your Piatas (the Red Eye Rainbow).

Weeds, by some unlikely coincidence, are harmful to your garden. If you are
unfortunate enough to have seen the movie "The Happening" then you are aware of
the dangerous effects of rogue plants. They can give you Piatas all kinds of
sicknesses (including a virus that makes them completely destroy your
garden). One interesting twist is that certain weeds are required Romance
and Appearance conditions for different Piata species. In total, there are
four separate kinds of weeds: Thistle, Poison Ivy, Toadstool, Venus Piata
Trap.

Only grow weeds as necessary. If you have unwanted weeds then use your shovel
to exterminate them. Seeds of weeds actually sell better than actual weeds.
Unlike trees, weeds won't grow in holes in the soil. Here is an alphabetical
list of plants, weeds, bushes and trees. Their soil requirements are listed in
parentheses.

Fertilizers are also a major part of growing a bountiful garden. There are many
different types of fertilizer and all serve a unique purpose. Rare has
integrated a semi-color coordinated system. Piatas of one color will often
eat fruits of the same color. The fertilizer of that color tends to be more
efficient when used on Flowers of that color or trees that bear fruits of that
color. Using the appropriate fertilizer will produce more Flowers and better
fruits. An additional bonus of using the correct fertilizer is that you gain
experience levels and increase the level of your garden.

One way to know if you've applied the right amount of fertilizer is to listen
to the game mechanics. Use the audio as a guide. A high-pitched ding means you
have done it correctly whereas a flat soundbyte indicates an incorrect amount
of fertilizer.

To begin planting, dig a hole with the seed head on your shovel. Use your
garden space wisely. You need to plant things far enough away from each other
so that they have room to grow but close enough together so that you can
maximize your garden's output. Try digging about ten holes to begin with
because that is the maximum amount of seed you can buy at one time.

Next you'll need to plant the seeds of whatever you want to grow. Fertilize
each and every one of them using the appropriately colored fertilizer (see the
list below). You will fertilize everything that is highlighted by your cursor.
This can save you a bit of time on larger projects. When you have laid the
fertilizer, begin to water the plants. I have spelled out the basic techniques
for watering previously in this section, but experience is a better teacher
than I.

When you start seeing buds appear on your Flowers and trees, dispense some more
fertilizer onto the plants. Remember to listen to the game's sounds while you
do this as different plants require different amounts of fertilizer. If you
have done everything correctly, you will witness the growth of beautiful
trees and Flowers. The first time you try to plant a tree it may not bear
its maximum amount of fruit. Even if it's not a great crop you will gain
experience and make future projects easier.

Here is an alphabetical list of fertilizers with their correlating colors in
parentheses:

============
vii.	Sours [srsp]
============

Sours are the rejects of Piata Island. They are very counter-produtive for your
garden. They will fight with other Piatas, steal eggs, keep new Piatas from
coming to your garden, eat Flowers and any other horrible thing you can think
of. There are two ways of ridding yourself of these bohersome creatures. Skip
the next paragraph to see them.

One thing you notice with all sour Piatas is the release of Sour Candy. Sour
Piatas all make their mark on your garden by leaving this particularly
harmful substance behind them. If your Piatas eat it then they will become
either sick or enraged. It is best to smash them as you see them. They aren't
worth selling so don't worry about getting money for them.

Temporary fix (not recommended): Whack them with your shovel. This doesn't
really give you any benefits unless you just need to get a sour out of your
garden immediately. If you can afford it then I suggest the permanent solution
that is detailed below.

Permanent Solution: Tame them. A tamed Piata loses its sourness There are
various ways of taming sour Piatas as each species requires different
treatment.

When you tame a certain species of sour Piata, you will gain a section of the
Tower of Sour. Each section of the tower represents the sour species that you
have tamed. When these sections are lit up, no Piata of the corresponding sour
species will visit your garden. You can disable the sections as you please.
The Dragonache item will repel all sour Piatas regardless of tower sections are
in your possession.

Here is an alphabetical listing of sour Piatas and their unique
characteristics:

Species: Sour Shellybean
Appear Requirement:	Level 4 garden
Visit Requirement:	Level 5 garden
Resident Requirement:	1) Eats an Apple Seed

that second part up, but they do SOMETHING to make your
			Piatas fall ill.

============
viii.	Explanation of Experience	[xplz]
============

The success and growth of your garden is determined primarily by experience
petals. You receive experience petals for accomplishing various tasks throughout
the game (from sowing your first seed to romancing Piatas).

Plants and Piatas both have certain awards which are given to you as you grow
and breed them. Each award comes with experience petals. As you obtain more
experience petals, the level of your garden increases. Weeds and bought Piatas
do not offer as many experience petals or awards as do visiting Piatas,
Flowers, Bushes and Trees.

One problem you inevitably run into as you try to obtain every award for every
species is that you must alter your garden's basic infrastructure on many
occassions. Certain Piatas are attracted only by certain plants, certain
amounts of water, etc. This is the entire fun of the game though. Don't concern
yourself with leveling up too quickly. Focus on a couple species at a time.
Your garden won't be as convoluted and you won't become frustrated with trying
to maintain ten different species at once.

The amount of experience you have is represented by the Flower in the upper
right corner of your screen. Blue petals indicated experience that has been
obtained and white Flowers display the amount of experience needed to level
up.

Plant Awards (Four total):
1) Grow plant ZZZ.
2) Fertilize plant ZZZ successfully. Plant ZZZ experiences growth.
3) Fertilize plant ZZZ successfully. Plant ZZZ experiences growth.
4) Fertilize plant ZZZ successfully. Plant ZZZ experiences growth.

Piata Awards (Seven total):
1) The Piata of Species XXX visits your garden.
2) The Piata of Species XXX becomes a resident in your garden.
3) The Piata of Species XXX romances with another Piata.
4) Seven Piatas of Species XXX reside in your garden.
5) Discover variant #1 of Species XXX.
6) Discover variant #2 of Species XXX.
7) Discover variant #3 of Species XXX.

As you gain experience and level up, new species of Piata and plants become
available to you. You will also receive bonuses from Jardiniero. Occassionally,
these bonuses will result in little more than a rank change. Sometimes, however,
you will be able to upgrade the strength of your shovel.

Shovel Upgrade Received at Level Facilitates
Seed Head Lvl. 5 Digging holes for seeds.

ix.	Boost Your Funds [byfb]
============

Chocolate Coins are just as important (if not moreso) than expereince petals.
With Chocolate Coins you will be able to purchase seeds for your garden,
improved garden items and even Piatas.

There are a couple different ways to improve your finances in Viva Piata. I'll
talk about them and their effectiveness in this sections.

1) You'll get your first Chocolate Coin in this game by smashing all the pieces
of trash in your garden at the beginning. It's enough to get you going, but you
will need to find better ways to make money.

2) Romance your Piatas. You will be able to gain a small amount of coins
through breeding your Piatas. Mazes will have at least 20 Chocolate Coins
every time. Be aware that if you don't finish them then you won't be able keep
anything you collected. Don't forget to check boxes, look on the outside of
mazes, etc. More complex mazes offer more coins but that really doesn't help
because it becomes harder to collect those coins in the first place. Besides,
there are better ways of earning Chocolate Coins.

3) Put your Piatas on the market. This is probably the best way to make money
early on. After you have earned all seven awards for a certain species, sell
them all. Sell the house as well. They serve you no purpose after that...unless
of course the fourth method applies to them.

4) Exploit your Piatas' production. Some Piatas will produce certain resources
which can be collected and sold. You can do this manually or by hiring a
Gatherling to automate this action.

5) Exploit your plants' production. You can sell the produce of some fruit-
bearing trees for some easy cash (i.e. Apples from Apple Trees). As with the
above method, Gatherlings will automatically collect fruits in order to sell
them.

6) Build the mine. I know it's expensive. 16000 Chocolate Coins, I think?
Anyway, employ the talents of Diggerlings so that they can mine precious items
for you. Gatherlings will sell anything that can't go back into the ground
to improve your garden.

7) Plant a Gem Tree. Gatherlings will collect their gems and put them on the
market automatically. You will have Chocolate Coins flowing out of your ears.
This is the best and easiest way to make money, but it may not be available
to you if you are still early in the game. The seeds cost 238 Chocolate Coins
after all.

a. Happiness [hppn]

After you've learned the basics of Viva Piata, Leafos will give you a tutorial
about happiness. To see how happy a Piata is, highlight it with your cursor.
A circle shall appear towards the lower part of your screen surrounded by
blue and reddish-brown triangles. Naturally, it will become a goal of yours to
see that all of your Piatas remain happy. There are a few things you can do to
make sure that happens.

Things NOT To Do:
1) Don't let your Piata fall ill. Keep it away from unhealthy weeds and
	sour candy.
2) Don't let other Piatas attack it. You can keep this from happening by
selling	rival species or hitting its opposition with your shovel.
3) Don't ignore it. Piatas who are always doing their own thing seem to lose
	happiness as time goes on.
4) Don't beat it with your shovel. This is very hard to do by accident as Rare
Ltd. made sure that your "pound" animation stops if a Piata walks in
front of you. If you press A again, you can hit it. It has negative
	mental effects though. ;_;

Things You Should Do:
1) Happy sweets will temporarily boost your Piata's happiness.
2) Build it a house. Buy one from Willy Builder.
3) Romance it. Who doesn't love romance? The Piata receives a happiness boost
almost immediately and another one when its egg hatches.

To be honest, I don't think happiness plays a big role in Viva Piata. I have
heard people say that their Piatas ran away when they became depressed. It
has never happened to me (though I made an effort to keep my Piatas happy).

xi.	Piata Island [pirz]
============

The village on Piata Island has everything you need. The unique arrangement of
characters will provide you with a variety of services with which to improve
your garden.

a. Costolot's Store [cgsc]

Lottie is the manager of this general store. Being a general store, she sells
you items of all types (though not always politely). This is also a good place
to sell anything that you don't want (including Piatas, plants, etc). Here is
a list of everything you can buy at Costolot's (exluding fertilizer which is
listed in its own section elsewhere in the FAQ). For fertilizer prices, press
control + F to find "frtl". Seeds are also not listed here, but this is where
you can buy seeds. For more information about seeds, see the plants section.
Control + F "plvt" for Plant Varieties.

Sweet candies induce the specified effect. Happy sweets increase happiness
and Romance sweets help Piatas get their funk on.

b. Ivor Bargain [ibgn]

Leafos will warn you about Ivor Beggar. Her warnings don't really mean anything
as far as I can tell. Offer him 1000 Chocolate Coins to begin with and he will
open up this shop later in the game. He changes his name as well. Wouldn't you
if your last name were Beggar? His store will prove useful to you, though his
selection is not quite as large as Lottie's.

c. Arfur's Inn [rfri]

Arfur is the owner of the inn, which is where you can employ cheap labor to
help maintain your garden. To facilitate this help, you may have to construct
a helper's house in your garden so that they can maximize their work time.
Helpers work at certain times. Their hours and conditions are placed somewhere
in your garden for them to come by and examine. Once they do this, they begin
working for you.

Earn an easy achievement by naming one of your helpers. Keep them happy by
giving them Chocolate Coins (this isn't really necessary). What IS necessary
is that you don't beat your helpers like they are step-children. Although
smacking them with your shovel does generate some cash, your helpers will
leave forever if they become depressed. Alternatively, they become sad if you
ever fence them into an area so that they can't leave.

You have the option of giving your employee the day off. To do so, highlight
him with your cursor and press X. From this menu you will be able to terminate
the employee's contract or just send him home until tomorrow.

Helper Price Available at Level Hours

Sprinkling	440 CC Lvl. 10 6am-4pm
Description: These guys know how much water your plants need, though you may
have to do some watering when they leave for the day. DON'T spray them with
water and don't hire them if you already have the One Pour Wonder upgrade.

Gatherling	924 CC Lvl. 12 9am-4pm
Description: Keep these guys happy. Don't spray them with water. If they start
to hate you then they will begin keeping some of the stuff they collect to
themselves. They can sometimes become a little annoying because they make
gather produce that you are using to attract certain species of Piata.

Weedling	440 CC Lvl. 14 8am-5pm
Description: You have to manually show which weeds that you want the Weedling
to take care of. These guys will not pick up any seeds when they are done. Do
that yourself to keep the weeds from coming back.

Watchling	1584 CC Lvl. 16 3am-3pm
								or 3pm-3am
Description: Night Watchilng and Day Watchlings work separate hours. These guys
will love you for giving them a day off and day Watchlings enjoy being watered.
They attract Galagoogoo Piatas and will even talk to each other if you have
hired more than one. They keep Sour Piatas and Ruffians at bay.

Diggerling	2420 CC Lvl. 26 7am-6pm
Description: Diggerlings dig up whatever is in your mine. Spary them with
water but don't send them home.

d. Gretchen Fetchem [gtch]

Gretchen Fetchem, as her name implies, tracks down Piatas for you. For a price,
she will hunt any species of Piata that has been a resident in your garden at
any point in time. Gretchen will offer you two services when you approach her:

Standard Hunt: This service may take several days (at least more than one). Less
common Piatas will take longer to capture than species like Whirlms.

Express Hunt: This is the more expensive option. Gretchen usually doesn't take
longer than one day to bring you the Piata that you are looking for. It will
cost you twice the money as the standard hunt.

When she has finally tracked down the Piata you want, you will receive a
notification from her. This is when you pay her. You also have the option
of changing your mind. Don't make her waste her precious time though. You can't
contact her while she is on the hunt. If she is gone for several days then
she won't be available for that time. Of course, if you have encountered the
species that you are looking for before she gets back then by all means have her
release the Piata that she caught.

Her services are available at level 7. She can retrieve a Dragonache for free
if you accidentally sent it away. She will automatically release a Piata if you
leave it with her for a few days.

e. Willy Builder [wllb]

Willy is the odd-looking character who constructs homes for your Piatas as well
as a few buildings of various purposes. His services are available at level 2.
You will need to build the Piata house for each species if you want to be able
to have them take up residence in your garden and have them romance. Here are
the buildings that Willy will construct for you:

f. Post Office [psto]

You can access the Post Office from the main menu at Level 4. It is a neat
addition to the game because it allows you to send Piatas and garden items
to your friends on Xbox Live. Buy a crate for one Chocolate Coin and pack it
with whatever you wish. You can even send Chocolate Coins if you wish.

While in the Post Office, press the X button to bring up the crates that you
have received from friends. I don't really want to give out my gamertag but
email me if you need something from me. I have pretty much everything that is
available in the game. =P

Be aware that if you don't accept a crate that a friend has sent you, it will
disappear after a couple weeks. Crates will appear in the recipient's garden
after you have sent them.

How to Load a Crate:
1) Go to the Post Office via the main menu.
2) Buy a crate for one Chocolate Coin.
3) Press the Y button to proceed to the packing screen. Highlight whatever you
want to send (helpers, Piatas, fences, seeds, etc). Press Y to pack that item
into the crate. Press the B button when you are finished with everything.
4) Press the X button once more to bring up the menu. Add Chocolate Coins or
a message to your crate. Select a gamertag from your friend's list and it will
send.

g. Paper Pets [pptr]

Miss Petula offers a variety of Piata and Piata accessories, some of which are
exclusive to her shop. Accessories offer various unique effects for your
Piatas. You even have the option to send accessories to your friends via
Xbox Live.

Accessories increase Piata happiness and can satisfy certain romance
requirements. Other accessories, like the Keeper Hat, help your Piatas produce
a certain resource. Forgive me for not listing the levels at which these
accessories are available. I hate incomplete lists so I left that column out.

Accessories are lost of the Piata who is wearing them is eaten. Changing its
variant or sending it through Xbox Live will not affect the accessory.

h. Bart's Exchange [brte]

Bart will set up his shop at Level 9 and will be able to transform a variety of
items for you. When you approach him, you have the option to buy one of three
tickets. Bronze tickets are the cheapest and offer a 25% success rate. Silver
tickets have a 50/50 chance of successful tinkering. Gold tickets are the most
expensive and never fail.

An unsuccessful tinkering results in the destruction of whatever item you were
trying to transform. Gold tickets should be your primary option. Tinkered items
can help fulfill romance and variant requirements. Here is what Bart has to
offer:

i. Doc Patchingo [dcpg]

Doc Patchingo is the friendly neighborhood verterinarian. You encounter him
the first time one of your residential Piatas becomes sick. His services are
free the first time around. He is available at every hour of the day. You can
find him in the village menu or by highlighting a sick Piata and pressing the
A button.

How does your Piata become sick?
1) Is beaten up by another Piata.
2) Feed it weeds.
3) Has been beaten with your shovel (shame on you).
4) Becomes cramped up. Did you fence it in? See above condescending remark.
5) Eats a sour candy (left by Ruffians or sour Piatas).

Dastardos will come to attack your Piata if it has been sick for a while.
To have Doc Patchingo heal an ill Piata, it will cost 1/10th of that Piata's
base value. This means that more common Piatas like Whirlms won't cost you
much to fix. Rarer Piatas have higher hospital bills.

xii.	FAQ Section [ftqs]
============

Q:	Why won't species ZZZ visit my garden?
A:	Make sure that you have all the appearance requirements for the species
fulfilled. If you do, then give it some time. Remember that if you
already have two Piatas of a certain species then you will receive
no more visits from wild Piatas of that species. I suggest breeding.

Q:	Why did my Piata run away?
A:	It was probably too sad. Good job not feeding it or beating it with
a shovel or whatever you did.

Q:	The conditions are right. Why can't I romance these Piatas?
A:	You probably have too many of that species in your garden. Sell some
	and see if that works.

Q:	How do I call my Piatas out of their houses?
A:	Tap their houses with your shovel by presseing the X button. Don't hit
it with the A button or risk damaging the house. They might not come
out at night if they are sleeping.

Q:	How do I keep this sour Piata from ruining my garden?
A:	Tame it or hit it with your shovel until it leaves. Search code "srsp"
for more information. Remember to clear out any sour candies that it
leaves behind by whacking them with your shovel.

Q:	How do I obtain a Pigxie?
A:	Have Willy Builder construct the Mystery House. Now have a Swanana and
a Rashberry romance each other. That will result in a Pigxie egg.

Q:	Why won't Lottie let me purchase this item from Costolot's?
A:	You may have the maximum amount of that item already in your inventory.
Assuming that you have the necessary amount of Chocolate Coins...

Q: Why is my Piata sick?
A:	See the section about Doc Patchingo. Search code "dcpg".

Q:	How do I move a Piata house?
A:	After you have told Willy Builder where you want it, it isn't possible
	to change its location.

Q:	How do I get a Dragonache?
A:	Have Willy Builder construct a mine for 16500 Chocolate Coins. Hire a
Diggerling to help you reap the mine's benefits. Eventually you will
obtain an unbreakable egg. Buy a Cluckles or use one that you already
have to walk over to the egg. The egg will hatch a baby Dragonache.
Feed the Dragonache a bottle of Milk, a Redhott, a Salamango, a
Dragumfly and a Snapdragon Flower. The baby Dragonache will form a
cocoon and then emerge as an adult. See the Dragonache section under
	Piata listings for more details.

Q:	How do I keep my Piatas from fighting?
A:	It may be a natural tendency of that species. Some species just don't
get along with other species. Having the Red Eye Rainbow in your
garden will reduce the number of fights. Make sure to keep your Piatas
happy by building their houses, feeding them candy, etc.
