III. Acknowledgements and Permissions

Log:
---
Version 1.00: Complete guide.
Version 1.10: Added missing information in "Hedgehunk" Achievement guide,
detailed "I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost" further, and fixed some minor
       spelling errors.
Version 1.20: There was some incorrect terminology in the Hot Dog trial
Achievement walkthroughs, so I had to fix thoughs, as well as some
       missing info.
Version 1.30: More minor errors, but also tweaked some of the Achievements
that require talking to people so the actual names are given, to
       lessen confusion. Further detailed "Hedgehunk".
Also fixed the Hungry Hungry Hedgehog Achievement/Trophy some and
detailed the "Hard-Boiled" Achievement. This will likely be the final
       update for this guide.

=============================SECTION I: INTRODUCTION==========================

There isn't much to say concerning this guide. This guide's purpose is to
assist those who are looking to obtain Achievements and Trophies on
Sonic Unleashed. Some of these Achievements are simple to obtain, a few
unavoidable, others will make you sweat to obtain them.

I mainly began this guide because I keep seeing questions appearing on Yahoo
and Google regarding a full FAQ regarding the Achievements and Trophies.
Surprised and shocked that there wasn't one, I decided to take up the task.
Hopefully this guide will be beneficial for you as the reader.

And I must warn you, there might be spoilers in this walkthrough.

==============================SECTION II: LIST OF=============================
=====================SONIC UNLEASHED ACHIEVEMENTS/TROPHIES====================

As with any Xbox 360 game, Sonic Unleashed comes with 1000 G worth of
gamer points. On the PS3, they are ranked as Bronze, Silver or Gold (and
sometimes Platinum). There are a total of 50 Achievements/Trophies all
together for this game. Good luck.

NOTE: The Achievements/Trophies are in alphabetical order. I will also specify
the point value for the 360 version, and the Trophy value for the PS3 version.
Also, for Achievements that require performing a skill, I will show you the
control methodology used for each respective platform. It will always appear
in parentheses "()" and will appear in the order of the 360 first, then the
PS3 second.

------------------------------------Ace Pilot---------------------------------
------------------------"Pull off some flawless flying."----------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this achievement, you must play the Tornado flying
mini-game and finish it including the boss battle without taking a single hit.
The only advice I can give you is practice practice practice. The mini-game
is all QTEs, and may test your patience to the limits, but it is doable.

------------------------------------Airdevil----------------------------------
---------------------------"Improve your Air Boost!"--------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Very easy achievement, and unavoidable. Once you obtain the Air
Boost Upgrade in the Chun-Nan HUB, all you have to do is use the Air Boost
once (A + X or X + Square) and this Achievement is yours. You can only get
this as Sonic.

---------------------------------Almost There---------------------------------
-------------------------"Save the fifth continent."--------------------------

360: 25 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Unavoidable. Restore the Chaos Emerald after beating the Dark
Guardian in Shamar. This will restore the Shamar/Empire City area. Just for
your reference, this Chaos Emerald is the Yellow one.

-----------------------------------Basher-------------------------------------
------------------------"Get your Werehog level up."--------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: All you have to do is obtain a Combat Level 5 for Werehog. The
Combat levels are easy to obtain, especially the first five. Only two bars per
level.

------------------------------------BFFs--------------------------------------
--------------------"Become better friends with Chip."------------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: To get this one, keep feeding Chip foods that he loves. He loves
sweets and fast food, although he hates Chili Dogs, spicy and sour food.
Basically, think of him as a kid. What would a small kid like to eat? Keep
feeding him until he gets chatty. That's your cue that you're getting close.
Keep feeding him, then eventually you will get it. He can eat a lot of food,
the little porker.

--------------------------------Blue Meteor-----------------------------------
----------------"Dash through the white walls at top speed."------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: You have to beat Apotos, Windmill Isle in less then 2 minutes and
35 seconds, an easy feat really. To accomplish this, pretty much boost all you
can and get every QTE event to get this one.

--------------------------------Blue Streak-----------------------------------
---------------------"Create an unbeatable Hedgehog."-------------------------

360: 30 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Simple prospect, but will take a while to perform. You have to
max out both the Ring Energy and Speed for Sonic. To best do this, perform a
level that will get you high amounts on experience and easy enough to do so it
won't be a headache. The Werehog levels help out here, but if you are in for
speed, Rooftop Run in Spagonia can give you four experience bars in one good
run. Plus, doing the Trial Missions for the hot dogs (and consuming them) will
give you 70 experience each hot dog. Buying good food from the shops and
eating them also helps, but is a bit dull.

--------------------------------Combo King------------------------------------
--------------------------"Work on your combos."------------------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: A collection Achievement. You have to perform a total of 10,000
combos as Werehog. All I can say is just keep going back and do the Werehog
levels you love and beat the living crap out of those things.

---------------------------------Crasher--------------------------------------
-----------------"Get your Werehog level up even higher!"---------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: All you have to do is get the Combo Level up to Level 15. Like I
said before, leveling up the Combo Level is the easiest ability to level up.
By this point, you should be performing some wicked combos.

--------------------------Creature of the Night-------------------------------
----------------"Get a high score with Sonic the Werehog."--------------------

360: 15 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Basically, you just need to get an S-Rank with Werehog. In my
experience, I found that the second Werehog level, Savannah Citadel Act 1 in
Mazuri, is the easiest one to do this with. I got it my first time.

--------------------------------Day Tripper-----------------------------------
------------------------"Race through all stages."----------------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: All you have to do is clear every daytime level in the game,
which is easier said then done. I recommend stockpiling a lot of lives and
getting very high level stats before attempting, although in some levels, that
will do no good.

------------------------------Exotic Toppings---------------------------------
---------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Mazuri."------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Mazuri. For the
day trials, there are three Time Trials, three Enemy Trials, and three Ring
Trials. At night, there are three Time Trials and three Survival Trials. Once
you complete all of them, you will have a grand total of 30 hot dogs. These
will give you 70 XP each (totaling 2100 XP), so the reward is good. Easy at
first, more difficult later.

----------------------------First Time Customer-------------------------------
------------------------"Buy something from Wentos."--------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: You have to chase Wentos (the trenchcoat guy with the chao puppet
who seems to be the boss) over several continents, then you finally corner him
at Shamar. Buy just one item and this Achievement is yours.

------------------------------Fried Clam Roll---------------------------------
----------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Adabat."-----------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Adabat. For the
day trials, there are three Time Trials, three Enemy Trials, and three Ring
Trials. At night, there are three Time Trials and three Survival Trials. Once
you complete all of them, you will have a grand total of 30 hot dogs. These
will give you 70 XP each (totaling 2100 XP), so the reward is good. Adabat has
some very hard missions; ye be warned.

---------------------------------Full Moon------------------------------------
---------------------"Collect all of the Moon Medals."------------------------

360: 50 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Self-explanatory. You have to collect every single Moon Medal out
there in Sonic Unleashed. All 200 of them. They are scattered all over the
HUBs, levels and Professor Pickle will give you one a time or two if you give
him souvenirs (stingy old bat).

-----------------------Get on the Exorcise Bandwagon--------------------------
-------------------------"Drive dark spirits away."---------------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: After obtaining the camera from Tails (after completing Rooftop
Run Act 1 as Werehog), you have to find everyone who is acting strange at
night (when you talk to them, this purplish gas comes off). Take a picture
of them, and defeat all the enemies that come out in the time given. A
high-level Werehog makes this easier, although it isn't too bad at all.

------------------------Getting the Hang of Things----------------------------
----------------"Get a high score with Sonic the Hedgehog."-------------------

360: 15 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Basically, you just need to get an S-Rank with Sonic. The first
"real" level, Windmill Isle Act 2 in Apotos, is the easiest one to get this
one, in my opinion.

-----------------------------Gyro with Relish---------------------------------
---------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Apotos."------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Apotos. For the
day trials, there are three Time Trials, three Enemy Trials, and three Ring
Trials. At night, there are three Time Trials and three Survival Trials. Once
you complete all of them, you will have a grand total of 30 hot dogs. These
will give you 70 XP each (totaling 2100 XP), so the reward is good. This is
pretty easy, so have fun with it, slacker.

---------------------------------Half Moon------------------------------------
---------------------------"Collect Moon Medals."-----------------------------

360: 30 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Simple...in prospect. Collect half of the Moon Medals (100) in
the entire game. They are scattered throughout the HUBs, levels and Professor
Pickle will relinquish one once in a while as you give him souvenirs.

--------------------------------Hard Boiled-----------------------------------
-------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Eggmanland."----------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Eggmanland.
There are just three Time Trial missions. This is VERY difficult, and not just
for the times; it's the level itself. IT'S PERFECT HELL!!

NOTE: You can only access these as well as the HUB after and only after
beating the game once.

------------------------------Hard Day's Night--------------------------------
-------------------------"Blast through all stages."--------------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Basically, clear every since nighttime stage in the game. The
extra levels for Werehog are "simpler" then their daytime counterparts, but
don't slouch at it.

----------------------------------Hedgehunk-----------------------------------
------------------"Talk with people in the pursuit of love."------------------

360: 5 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: This one is long, but not complicated. Here's a step-by-step.

1. Find Ana in Mazuri and help her find her Prince Charming in Mazuri first,
then in Spagonia, then finally in Shamar.

2. Find the tour guide in Shamar and tell him about Ana. After a somewhat
amusing conversation between the lovebirds, find the tour guide named Sumaid
a replacement for the job, so he can go with Ana to Mazuri. This is solved by
talking to the little kid, Sadiq, near one of the bridges in the corner of the
HUB. After doing so, talk to the lovers again until they leave. Follow them to
Mazuri.

3. Talk to the father, Kwami, and he will want you to complete some missions.
Eventually, Ana and Sumaid will appear in Mazuri (at night at first), and they
are in trouble. Kwami won't bless their love, so Ana will send you to convince
him. Tell him that he is wrong, he needs to trust Ana, then request to test
them. After doing so, talk to Ana for another mission. Kwami will be convinced.

4. After all that, you must find Louie Montaine in Empire City and do a few
love quests for him (you must have completed both the night and day stages of
Empire City before you can do this). This self-proclaimed love guru will
lead you through three missions that will require patience. Enjoy your
Achievement you Cupid-hunk.

--------------------------------Helping Hand----------------------------------
---------------------------"Help someone in need."----------------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: This one is a weird achievement, but all you have to do is
complete every mission for one townperson. The easiest way to do this is to
talk to the Ice Cream Man at night (make sure you have the camera and flash).
Do the Exorcism level and there you go. If you want to go at it the hard way
with everyone else, be my guest.

--------------------------Hungry Hungry Hedgehog------------------------------
----------------------"Eat everything in the world."--------------------------

360: 30 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Basically, all you have to do is to have every single food and
drink item in your inventory, not all at one time though. If you just got one
food item, ate it, then get the next ones after, you'll still get the
Achievement or Trophy. This includes the ones in shops, the ones you can buy
from Wendos, and most importantly, at least one hot dog from each hot dog stand
in every level. Yummy...

---------------------------------Hyperdrive------------------------------------
-----------------------"Improve your Lightspeed Dash!"-------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Obtain the Lightspeed Dash upgrade from the Shamar HUB and perform
it on any line of rings (Y or Triangle).

-------------------------I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost----------------------------
----------------"Someone is dealing with spectral troubles."-------------------

360: 5 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: In Spagonia, there is one man named Marcantonio who keeps talking
about ghosts. Find him and help him in some side missions dealing with these
ghosts (who happen to be the same ones from Night of the Werehog, minus the
cameras though).

There are only two missions, and the first one is available soon after clearing
Rooftop Run Act 1 as Sonic. The second mission is not available until you
unlock the Adabat HUB. You will find the man there. Complete the second mission
as Werehog and the Achievement is yours.

---------------------------------Iced Hotdog----------------------------------
---------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Holoska."-----------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Holoska. For
the day trials, there are three Time Trials, three Enemy Trials, and three Ring
Trials. At night, there are three Time Trials and three Survival Trials. Once
you complete all of them, you will have a grand total of 30 hot dogs. These
will give you 70 XP each (totaling 2100 XP), so the reward is good. This is
challenging, so keep a cool head, so to speak.

-------------------------------Kebab on a Bun---------------------------------
----------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Shamar."-----------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Shamar. For the
day trials, there are three Time Trials, three Enemy Trials, and three Ring
Trials. At night, there are three Time Trials and three Survival Trials. Once
you complete all of them, you will have a grand total of 30 hot dogs. These
will give you 70 XP each (totaling 2100 XP), so the reward is good. Good luck;
you're going to need it.

----------------------------Ketchup and Mustard-------------------------------
-------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Empire City."---------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Empire City.
For the day trials, there are three Time Trials, three Enemy Trials, and three
Ring Trials. At night, there are three Time Trials and three Survival Trials.
Once you complete all of them, you will have a grand total of 30 hot dogs.
These will give you 70 XP each (totaling 2100 XP), so the reward is good.
Patience is a virtue so exercise it.

------------------------------Knockout Brawler--------------------------------
-------------------"Smash, smash, and smash some more."-----------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Stinking easy, and quick to obtain surprisingly. All you have to
do is destroy 1,000 enemies, both daytime and nighttime. The nighttime levels
is where the most come from, so concentrate there.

-----------------------------Lay the Smackdown--------------------------------
---------------------------"Improve your Stomp!"------------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: This is the first upgrade you get. Obtain the Stomp Upgrade in
the Holoska HUB and use it once (A + B or X + Circle). Easy as pie.

------------------------------Looking Better----------------------------------
-----------------------"Save the second continent."---------------------------

360: 25 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Restore the second continent by beating the Dark Gaia Phoenix in
Chun-Nan. For your info, the Chaos Emerald color here is Red.

--------------------------Oh, You Shouldn't Have!-----------------------------
--------------------"Give a souvenir to the Professor."-----------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Buy one souvenir from any store and give it to Professor Pickle.
Easy easy.

-----------------------------One More to Go-----------------------------------
-----------------------"Save the sixth continent."----------------------------

360: 25 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Restore the sixth continent by defeating Egg Lancer in Adabat.
Just for your info, the Chaos Emerald is the Purple (the one everyone insists
on calling "violet") one.

-----------------------------Partly Cloudy------------------------------------
-------------------------"Collect Sun Medals."--------------------------------

360: 30 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Collect half of the Sun Medals (100) in the game. They are
scattered throughout the HUBs, levels and Professor Pickle will relinquish
one once in a while as you give him souvenirs.

-------------------------Picking Up the Pieces--------------------------------
----------------------"Save the fourth continent."----------------------------

360: 25 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Restore the fourth continent by defeating Dark Moray in Holoska.
For your info, the Chaos Emerald is the Sky Blue one.

----------------------------Pig in a Blanket----------------------------------
-------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Spagonia."------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Spagonia. For
the day trials, there are three Time Trials, three Enemy Trials, and three
Ring Trials. At night, there are three Time Trials and three Survival Trials.
Once you complete all of them, you will have a grand total of 30 hot dogs.
These will give you 70 XP each (totaling 2100 XP), so the reward is good. These
can be fun, but the later ones can be a pain.

---------------------------Power Overwhelming---------------------------------
--------------------"Create an unbeatable Werehog."---------------------------

360: 30 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Simply, max out every ability (Combat, Strength, Life, Unleash
and Shield). This will definitely take a long time and lots of gameplay,
especially for Strength and Life. Have fun.

-------------------------------Ring Leader------------------------------------
-----------------"Gather Rings from all over the world."----------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Very easy if you are decent at the game. Just collect a grand
total of 5,000 rings, added up from every level you played, rings collected
in HUBs, etc.

---------------------------Sausage Fried Rice---------------------------------
------------------"Eat all the hot dogs in Chun-nan."-------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To earn this, complete all the hot dog missions in Chun-Nan. For
the day trials, there are three Time Trials, three Enemy Trials, and three Ring
Trials. At night, there are three Time Trials and three Survival Trials. Once
you complete all of them, you will have a grand total of 30 hot dogs. These
will give you 70 XP each (totaling 2100 XP), so the reward is good. Definitely
not a slouch.

---------------------------------Smasher--------------------------------------
------------------"Get your Werehog level up some more!"----------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Easy enough. Just level up the Combat Level for Werehog to Level
10. Doesn't really take long.

-----------------------------Social Butterfly---------------------------------
--------------------"Talk to people around the world."------------------------

360: 30 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Simple in prospect: talk to every NPC in every world HUB. The
hard part is remembering who you talked to and who you did not talk to. To
easier keep track, keep tabs with Professor Pickle's shelf. The people you
talk to adds a new entry to his People index. They are grouped according to
their respective world HUB.

NOTE: This includes the robots in the Eggmanland HUB, and the Hot Dog vendors
in every HUB.

------------------------------Speeding Ticket---------------------------------
---------------------"Become the fastest thing alive."------------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Very difficult. To earn this one, you have to clear Arid Sands
Act 1 in Shamar in less than 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Find the short-cuts
and exploit them flawlessly. Mind the falling pillars.

---------------------------Still a Jigsaw Puzzle------------------------------
------------------------"Save the third continent."---------------------------

360: 25 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To obtain this, defeat the Egg Devil Ray boss in Spagonia.
F.Y.I., the Chaos Emerald is the Dark Blue one.

-------------------------------Still Broken-----------------------------------
-----------------------"Save the first continent."----------------------------

360: 25 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: To obtain this pessimistic achievement/trophy, simply defeat Egg
Beetle in Mazuri to restore the continent. The Chaos Emerald you restore is
the Green one.

----------------------------------Sunny---------------------------------------
---------------------"Collect all of the Sun Medals."-------------------------

360: 50 G
PS3: Silver
---
WALKTHROUGH: Collect every single Sun Medal (200) out there in the game. Find
them in levels, HUBs and occasionally from Professor Pickle as a trade-off
when you give him souvenirs.

------------------------That's Enough, Seriously------------------------------
-----------------"Give every souvenir to the Professor."----------------------

360: 20 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Self-explanatory. Give every souvenir that exists to Professor
Pickle. Buy them from shops and be sure to find Wentos and buy from him every
chance you get.

NOTE: You have to beat the game first because there are five souvenirs that
you have to get at the Eggmanland HUB in order to get this Achievement or
Trophy.

--------------------------------Thrasher--------------------------------------
----------------"Get your Werehog level way up there!"------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Simply put, obtain a Combat Level of 20 as Werehog. The other
"award" is that you are now a force to be reckoned with, and now random
punches of X and Y means devastation.

------------------------------Wall Crawler------------------------------------
-----------------------"Improve your Wall Jump!"------------------------------

360: 10 G
PS3: Bronze
---
WALKTHROUGH: Easy enough. Find the Wall Jump Upgrade in Spagonia and perform
it once (A + A or X + X against a wall). It's all...really beautiful.

------------------------------World Savior------------------------------------
--------------------------"Complete the game."--------------------------------

360: 100 G
PS3: Gold
---
WALKTHROUGH: Self-explanatory. Simply beat Dark Gaia Perfect and enjoy the
ending cutscenes. Now take a rest you hard-worker you...

This next Trophy is EXCLUSIVE to the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

----------------------------------100%----------------------------------------
-------------------"Collect every trophy in the game."------------------------

PS3: Platinum
---
WALKTHROUGH: This Trophy is unlocked automatically when you have collected
every single trophy, all 50 of them, in the game. Mount it up and keep it
polished. You are truly a Sonic player when you get this one.
