This guide is for the many classes and skills in the action-RPG mass
effect. It will hopefully aid you in picking the right class for your
Shepard and the teammates you'll take along in your Squad. If you have

Classes: Human                                                  [03CLH]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
These are the classes that Commander Shepard can choose from. Pick
wisely, as each brings a very different playing style. Other human
Squad members are also members of some of these classes.

Soldier                                                         [CHSOL]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The pure combat master. Soldiers can use any of the four weapon types
effectivly, and are the toughest class as they are able to wear Heavy
Armor and regenarate health. A very good class for first time players.
This is the class of Default/Quick Shepard, Ashley, and Jenkins.
Shepard can upgrade to a Commando to improve offensive power, or Shock
Trooper to boost defense power.

Ideal Teammates: Tali, Liara, Kaiden. Even with great combat abilities,
there can still be dangers when swarmed by enemies. Having allies with
skills like Lift, Sigularity and Medicine will make things less
troublesome.

Engineer                                                        [CHENG]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Engineers are a pure Tech user. Though lighter on damage, Engineers
can quickly cripple enemies and keep allies safe. Addtionally, they can
repair the Mako much faster and crack locks and electronics. A good
choice for a more supportive style of play. Shepard can upgrade to
Operative to strength debuffing, or Medic to help first-aid healing. 

Ideal Teammates: Liara, Ashley, Wrex. You'll need strong allies to help
take down enemies. Because you can unlock and repair on your own, there
isn't much need for other Tech users.

Adept                                                           [CHADE]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Adepts are masters of Biotic powers. Not only can they provide high
damage, but they can also keep enemies at bay by throwing them around
and suspending them in the air. Though they lack high healing or
shields, they can gain protection from Barrier. Shepard can advance to
Nemesis to improve offensive Biotics that manipulate the enviroment,
or Bastion to improve defensive Biotics to pervent harm.  

Ideal Teammates: Ashley, Tali, Garrus. You'll need allies to help
decrypt, heal, and repair. It also helps that they can actively fight
while your skills recharge.

Infiltrator                                                     [CHINF]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Infiltrator is a combination of Combat and Engineering. They are
well protected with good shields and healing; they can debuff enemies
then safely pick them off one-by-one with their Sniper Rifle. They have
a bit more trouble in close range fights. Shepard can upgrade to
Commando to greatly improve sniping, or Operative to add to disabling
Techs.  

Ideal Teammates: Kaiden, Wrex, Liara. It's a very good idea to bring
along Biotic users who can distract and throw around enemies while you
take them down.

Sentinel                                                        [CHSEN]

Sentinels combine Techs and Biotics, giving them great abilities to
support the squad. They however are completely lacking in combat
skills, making them the worst choice for weapons and armor. Kaiden is
also a member of this class, is better with both types of skills and
the Pistol, but cannot gain the Marksman ability. Shepard can advance
to Medic to improve healing, or Bastion to improve protective Biotics. 

Ideal Teammates: Wrex, Garrus, Ashley. Since you'll be lacking in the 
damage department, it's a good idea to bring along allies that have
high Combat training to distract foes while you support the team.

Vanguard                                                        [CHVAN]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Vanguard combines Combat with high damage Biotics. They have many
abilities to quickly annihilate foes, but in turn are very vulnerable
themselves. Choose this class if you like kamikaze style play. Shepard
can upgrade to Shock Trooper to improve Combat defenses, or Nemesis to
further strengthen offensive Biotics.       

Ideal Teammates: Garrus, Kaiden, Tali. You'll need someone with Techs
to help with unlocking, repairing and healing. There is nothing worse
than being greatly damaged but have medi-gels that recover very little.

Four members of your party have special classes similar to the ones
Shepard can be, however several skills are changed to make them play
differently.

Turian Agent                                                    [CATAG]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Turian Agent is Garrus' class. It is a modified version of Infiltrator,
but is geared more for offensive Combat due to Assault Rifle and
Assault Training. He's both deadly once trained with Sniper Rifles and
can help aid the Squad with Techs.

Krogan Battlemaster                                             [CAKBA]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Krogan Battlemaster is Wrex's class. It has somewhat like a
Vanguard, but built even more for close range combat, and less potent
Biotics. With Combat Armor and Fitness he can become an unstoppable
tank. If you found enemy Krogan to be a pain, just wait till you have
one fighting on your side.

Quarian Machinist                                               [CAQMA]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quarian Machinist is Tali's class. It is based on the Engineer class,
however while she doesn't have the added defensive power of Medicine,
she makes up for it with the power of Shotgun blasts. She also has
some of the highest Shields of any character, allowing her to survive
some of the worst attacks.

Asari Scientist                                                 [CAASC]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Asari Scientist is Liara's class. The class is an Adept but sacrifices
what little Combat skills it had for Techs. This makes her a very
deadly squad member with some limited support. Keep her well protected
and she'll destroy not only the enemy, but every object in the room.

Combat skills improve damage and accuary with weapons, the defense
power of armor, and abilities to restore Shields, and lower cooldowns
times.

Pistol                                                          [SCPIS]

Though Pistols aren't very strong of a weapon, but it's very accurate
and overheats far less often. Might as well stick with this weapon if
you don't have better training, or are untrained with any weapon.
Putting points into this skill improves its power and accuracy.
Addtionally, it will unlock the Marksman ability which will make your
pistol fire much faster and with greater accuaracy.

Shotgun                                                         [SCSHO]

Shotguns are very deadly at close ranges, but have low rate of fire
and very inaccurate, making them fairly bad from fruther away. A good
choice for characters that have the armor and shields to get up close.
Points in this skill improve damage and accuarcy and open the Carnage
ability, which increases the blast radius, making one able to to take
out large gourps.

Assault Rifle                                                   [SCASS]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Assault Rifles offer a quick barrage of shots. It has a high rate of
fire and decent damage and accuracy, making it a good idea at medium
range. Careful to not let it overheat, though. Points in this skill
increase damage and accuary and grants the Overkill ability, which
makes attacks even more rapid.

Sniper Rifle                                                    [SCSNI]

Sniper Rifles are great for taking out foes from a distance, however
in untrained hands aiming is nearly impossbile. Putting points in
this skill not only adds damage and accuarcy, but makes aiming much
more stable; it also adds the Assassination ability, which will greatly
add to damage, allowing you in many cases to one-shot kill the most
hardend of foes.

Basic Armror improves the the effectivness of Light armor, fairly handy
for keeping the character alive. Likewise, it opens the Shield Boost
ability which increases the rate of Shield restoration.

with enough points allows the character to use Medium armor. It also

Combat Armor improves all armor types. Classes with this skill can wear
Medium armor right from the start, and can later gain Heavy armor, with
even more protection. This skill also retains the Shield Boost ability
as with the other Armor skills.

Assault training slightly improves damage with every weapons, and
greatly improves melee damage. This skill will allow you to rush up to
an enemy and bash them into submission. With enough points it will also
grant the Adrenaline Burst ability, which will cooldown all other used
abilities. It can be out right broken in the hands of a decent Vanguard.

Fitness grants more health. Putting points in here will grant the
Immunity ability, which when used will redcue damage you take from
50-80%. Very good to use when your shields and medi-gels are out, or if
you want to charge right into the fray.

Skills: Tech                                                    [06STE]

Tech skills use small mines and machines to disrupt the tide of battle.
Additionally, those who have mastered Techs can open locks, hack
computers, and quickly repair damaged vheicles. It's very important to
have at least one Tech user on your team at all times. Techs can be
improved my upgrading Omni-Tools.

Decryption                                                      [STDEC]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Decryption let's your Squad to open sealed crates and computers,
allowing you to find items and information you otherwise could not
access. If you've picked a class for Shepard that doesn't know techs,
it's very important to have Kaiden, Garrus, or Tali in your team.
Having enough points in this skill unlocks the Sabatoge ability, which
will overheat enemy weapons, making them unable to attack or force
them to melee.

Charm                                                           [SSCHA]

The Charm skill goes hand in hand with the Paragon meter. More points
in Charm will give you more Paragon options (Blue) during dialog, which
almost always give Paragon points, and in turn raises the cap on Charm
skill. With enough points you'll learn Discount, which will lower the
prices of items in shops. Paragon points themselves add bonuses to
health, first aid, and cooldowns.

Stats
Level 04: Store Discount (-2% price of bought items)
Level 08: Store Discount (-5% price of bought items)
Level 12: Store Discount (-8% price of bought items)

Intimidate                                                      [SSINT]

The Intimidate skill is the inverse of Charm. It gives more Regenade
options (Red) during dialog, which many times boost Renegade points.
The more Regegade points you have, the higher Intimidate can go. After
pointing enough skill points into it you'll gain Motivated Buyer, which
will icrease the amount of credits you get from selling times. With
more Renegade points, you'll see boosted damage, health regeneration,
and duration of abilities.

Level 04: Motivated Buyer (+2% price of sold items)
Level 08: Motivated Buyer (+5% price of sold items)
Level 08: Motivated Buyer (+8% price of sold items)

Spectre Training                                                [SSSPE]

Spectre training improves many of Shepard's traits, including health,
damage, accuarcy, and boosted powers on all skills. With enough points
it will unlock the Unity ability, which will revive fallen squad
members. This is overall one of the best skills and should be one of
the top ones to maximize.

Level 01: +1% damage and duration of all powers, +5% Health, +2%
Accuracy, +0.4% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 02: +1.5% damage and duration of all powers, +5.5% Health, +3%
Accuracy, +0.6% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 03: +2% damage and duration of all powers, +6% Health, +4%
Accuracy, +0.8% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 04: Unity (Revive Squad Members with 15% Health and 40% Shields,
150s Recharge, -45% Accuracy)
Level 05: +2.5% damage and duration of all powers, +6.5% Health, +5%
Accuracy, +1% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 06: +3% damage and duration of all powers, +7% Health, +6%
Accuracy, +1.2% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 07: +3.5% damage and duration of all powers, +7.5% Health, +7%
Accuracy, +1.4% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 08: Advanced Unity (Revive Squad Members with 20% Health and 60%
Shields, 120s Recharge, -35% Accuracy)
Level 09: +4% damage and duration of all powers, +8% Health, +8%
Accuracy, +1.6% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 10: +4.5% damage and duration of all powers, +8.5% Health, +9%
Accuracy, +1.8% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 11: +5% damage and duration of all powers, +9% Health, +10%
Accuracy, +2% Accuracy Regenerate
Level 12: Master Unity (Revive Squad Members with 30% Health and 100%
Shields, 90s Recharge, -30% Accuracy)
