PS. This is my first FAQ so I hope that its as good to you as it is to me. =========================================================================== PURPOSE OF FAQ SEC3 =========================================================================== The purpose of this FAQ is to supply you with the best possible farming areas within the game to maximize CP and/or Gil gain I will go over the areas in great detail. I will also go over Noteworthy: Items, Fragment Skills and Monsters to make the farming process as smooth and quick as possible. Please Note that this guide is based on you having completed the game however I will note any locations that I find to be a good place to farm pregame. =========================================================================== WHAT IS FARMING SEC4 =========================================================================== What is Farming? Well farming is a process of you killing or doing the same thing over and over again to achieve something in this case its to get Crystarium Points and Gil. =========================================================================== CRYSTARIUM POINT FARMING SEC5 =========================================================================== Right now to the FAQ here is where I believe to be the best places for CP gain. =========================================================================== Academia-400AF =========================================================================== Ok this is one of the best places. The reason is the frequency of battles you get one every 20 or so seconds and they last about 20 seconds POST GAME. Recommended Setup: COM/COM/COM This can be done the first time you come here but it just takes longer I was averaging about 40secs110secs per battle. Now the Math With an average encounter of about 1-2 Taxim and 3-4 Nelapsi or 6-7 Nelapsi. The CP per battle is within the region of 400-700 which is a fair amount giving the fact you get that so quickly also if you have the Rolling in CP Fragment skill you get x2 CP so thats 800-1400 per battle. So if we have a battle every 20 or so seconds and they last 20 seconds then we get a return Without x2 CP estimated [36,000-76,000] Per hour with the x2 fragment we get [72,000-126,000] per hour Now Im not sure but if someone can confirm this before I do does the x2 CP skill stack with the Green Chocobo equivalent? IF so the maximum gain is [144,000]-[252,000] Give or take it should only take you about 4-7 hours Post Game to achieve level 99 in all roles doing this Technique with x2 CP. =========================================================================== Yaschas Massif 100AF/110AF =========================================================================== Recommended Setup: RAV/RAV/COM COM/COM/COM Whats needed: Rolling in CP fragment skill & Battle mania fragment skill. Now what you need to do once in Yaschas Massif goto the area witht the searchlights. What you are looking for is the rare behemoth (Narasimha) Now be careful this guy can be a little hard to take down, Once dead he offers between 3000-4000 CP with the fragment skill. So gains are about 80,000-120,000 CP per hour assuming the battles last 60 seconds. =========================================================================== Oerba 400AF =========================================================================== Whats needed Battle mania fragment skill, Rolling in CP fragment skill and Durable collectors catalog x2 You can do this fight without any of the above just not recommended. Enemy: Raspital Location: Rare spawn Oerba 400AF Recommened Setup: 1.COM/COM/COM 2.RAV/RAV/COM 3.SAB/SAB/SYN 4.MED/MED/MED I highly recommend you get all roles to lvl99 before taking on this enemy. Raspital summons minions that get stronger the longer the fight lasts so be quick the fight good news this guy can be debufffed quite alot so start off with 3 debuff him until they all stick, heal with 4 if needed once he is debuffed switch to 2 get the stagger guage up once he staggered, worh the guage to 800% then switch to 1 if you dont kill him in one stagger rince and repeat, The fight should only take about 3-6 mins Late postgame. Raspital gives 50,000 CP and 150,000 Gil just for killing him he also drops Scarletite x3 just be prepared for a challenge if you are not prepared. =========================================================================== GIL FARMING SEC6 =========================================================================== Here are the best places I have found so far for GIL Farming. I wont note Raspital method here as its already covered above. =========================================================================== Bresha Ruins-100AF =========================================================================== This area has the infamous Don Tonberry !!!!NOTE RARE SPAWN!!!! so if you are going to farm this enemy please come with the Battle Mania Fragment Skill (Increases spawn rate of rare monsters)also, If you have x2 Durable Collectors Catalogs perfect if not doesnt matter too much. Recommended Setup COM/RAV/RAV Stagger Don Tonberry then go all out With COM/COM/COM And Heal Using MED/MED/MED if Necessary. Now to the good stuff with the increased spawn rate this guy isnt hard to find. What does Don Tonberry offer well he is fairly easy to take down Post Game about 30seconds-100seconds, now he drops 18,360 GIL with Catalog and Item Scarletite 20% Drop Chance, With the catalogs its a 99% drop chance around 1-2 per kill It sells for 17,000 GIL or 18,700 the latter is if you have the Increased sell to shops fragment skill. He also drops Hermes Sandals 3% Rare Drop chance which sells for 10,000 or 11,000 you can get about 37,360 GIL per battle or a maximum of 55,760. Minimum-Maximum gain per hour 1.482.400 GIL - 2,223,600 GIL. =========================================================================== MONSTERS AND ITEMS SEC7 =========================================================================== GREEN CHOCOBO: ABILITY: CPx2, ROLE: Medic Where to Find Yaschas Massif 100AF/110AF Recruit rate 15% !!!Note!!! you dont get this ability until the Chocobo gets to level 99 so get ready to get a lot of GIL and spend away to get him to level 99. Only do this if you dont have the Fragment equivalent, Unless they stack To Be Confirmed. GOLDEN CHOCOBO ROLE: Commando Where to Find: Dying World 700AF Location, Hidden treasure ball north of bridge leading to western area !!!Note!!! Please level this Chocobo to Level 45 before doing the Chocobo Races makes it 10* easier. COLLECTORS CATALOG/DURABLE COLLECTORS CATALOG: What they do: Increased item drop, increased GIL and increased rare item drop STACKS! This item helps a lot with getting Maximum GIL gain per fight for example Don Tonberry. How to get: You need to win the Chocobo Races, Use the Golden Chocobo for this. Go to Serendipity then race your Chocobo to the Falcie class which is the final class I believe, Once there you will want to select the race Dahakas Stake Win this race two times and vola you have two Catalogs. Once you have both you need to upgrade them with 4x Sunpetal found on Microchu in Archylte Steppe ???AF During wet weather on the west side and 4x Phoenix Blood buy from Serendipitys shop for 1600 chips (16000 GIL) once completed buy Durable Collectors Catalog from Chocolina 30,000 GIL each with haggler fragment skill. BATTLE MANIA FRAGMENT SKILL: How to get: To get this skill you need to get 100% map completion in all areas and return to Miss Horizon in Academia 400AF once her Mission is completed return to the Mystic in Serendipity and collect skill. =========================================================================== QUESTIONS & ANSWERS SEC8 =========================================================================== Most questions that people email me with relevance to this FAQ will be posted here with my response. =========================================================================== LEGAL SEC9 =========================================================================== This document is Copyright (c) Ian Cowan (SRGDUCK) This FAQ was written to help all who read it with a no profit intention.
