Question for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition

Hey again. What are seeds and how do they work. Cuz I'm new to minecraft and I want to invite my friends and stuff but I don't enderstand how to invite them by seed. And I don't know how to join there games. I just got a bunch of numbers. HELP!

The seed is a randomly generated string of numbers. This string of numbers, when entered into the game (start a new map, and when it asks for the world name and seed, put it into the seed part) will generate a map identical to the first. It is pretty much the way Minecraft identifies what is in a particular map. Seeds do not take into account any mining or building you do.

To play with a friend, you must either invite them into your game, or if it is local multiplayer, just have them press start on a second controller.

Ok thanks. So if you put the number in for a new world (number being ike a friends number I have), it will create a world identical to his or will I join?

You will get a world identical to theirs. You won't join their world nor will you get anything that they created in that world. It will simply be the same world they started with.
