I think it's just random timing when he uses reflect, I got it at the end of the battle. Use your spell casters to cast barriers to negate the effect of magic attacks, and to heal other members. With weaker members use bombs. Just try and take him down as quickly as possible before he has a chance to use reflect.

Velexetron2 answered:

Actually, deadlysnips is wrong here. The Living Ice uses the Reflect skill when he is at about 1/3 health (1,600 health). All of your magic spells will be reflected back at you. It is best to keep Mack doing magic-enhancing spells on Ming and Jansen (preferably Ming); have Cooke on healing duties, such as Zephyra; and have Jansen and Ming cast Grounda until the Living Ice reaches 1,600 health. After that, have Mack, Ming, and Jansen use Grounda Bombs and Ground Bombs. Winda, Wind, Flare, and Flara Bombs will also work, only with reduced effect. Do not, however, use Aquara or Aqua Bombs, for you will end up healing the enemy you are trying to destroy!
