Question for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

In the part where the old lady, Prof. McGonegell is fighting the giants on the bridge and she gets all them knocked off the bridge, but then she has one come back over and she is facing him. When she does the Confringo spell with the y button, and then the shield, the protego spell, I am getting beat every time here and can not seem to beat the giant. Is there something I am missing or not doing? Help!
