I just got Guitar Hero: World Tour for my 360 and wanted to know if I could take a chord book from my favorite artist (that isn't in the game) and use the custom track creator to make a version of the song I like from the artist to play on my 360 offline. I realize I won't be able to submit it online with the song, due to copyright laws (It's not like I can go online with my 360 any time I want to anyway!). Any information regarding this matter is greatly appreciated.

I know you can, but it would take a while and lots of skill. I have found that making your own song is hard because they have limited notes to do chords with. I have tried to do this same thing, but ultimately failed, but good luck.
You are limited on the sound you can produce, you are better off trying to make a song all your own
