using the phone for game cheats

why when i use d-pad to bring up phone it only comes up half way to where i cannot see the numbers and it just says multi-player. how do i get the entire phone view up so i can type in cheats?

Press up on the D-pad twice. Then enter the cheats in and they'll appear in another folder at the very bottom of your cell phone options.
