I'm having trouble beating the game by 1100 ad, can anyone help me out ?

Probably the quickest way to win would be going for a domination win on chieftian difficulty

I friend the people, then get an army and surround them and attack. And try to build walls

As soon as the game starts, research bronze working, so you can get archers and defend your cities for the imminent attacks from the other nations. Then when you have at least two defensive units, recruit attack units, all this while trying to expand your empire even further. If you do this I'm pretty sure you'll get the upper hand by that date.
