Okay I killed The god Vivec and took the artifact but I can't equip it. T know what it does and how to use it. You equip it then you can use the sunder and keening to destroy the heart when fighting Dagoth Ur. Please help

You aren't meant to kill Vivec to finish the main quest, so your best bet is to reload your game. What is meant to happen is that you talk to vivec, and he activates the artifact, turning it into the wraithguard. There is still a way to activate the artifact though, if vivec is dead. Just try talking to the dwarf in the corpruserium in Tel Fyr.
