Question for Sid Meier's Pirates!

This is my ideal fleet:

Ship of the Line (Flagship.)
Royal Sloop* (Backup, in case my flagship sinks.)
Merchantman**
Merchantman**
Merchantman**

*They sail and turn faster than brigs.
**For cargo space.
