The first of the series to be played on the playstation 2 platform. WWE finally release a good game on PS2. This was the best wrestling game out when this arrived in stores. Many new features which werent included in the previous versions of the game.
Graphics are superb for a first release, The dodgey PS1 graphics have finally gone. The details on the superstars look more real than ever. Graphics around the game like the ring, backstage, weapons have all improved from previous versions. Nice skin improvement which adds the more realism into the game. Storylines are the best of the graphics as you can much detail here face up. The score for 10 is just the huge improvement from the previous PS1 version of the games.
Sound is quite moderate, Nothing really special. The crowd makes a nice cheering news but gets repetative since it's basically the only thing they say. The superstars can't speak either so the season mode is quite dull for sound. Entrance music for all the superstars are nice since it's all offical music. The fighting in the ring and bodies hitting the ring dosnt really impress anyone, This hasnt changed from previous versions though.
Gameplay has improved from the PS1 version. Smooth gameplay as always. Controls for the game are quite simple and are easy for use. Nothing really special about gameplay apart from theres a few new matches but which are very easy to win of course. Gameplay in season mode can become annoying because you have to control your superstar and move him around the arena.
A moderate fair score. Fans of the WWE will enjoy playing it so it could last up to week of playing. Exhibition matches don't last very long though to the low number of different match tupes. Season mode can be completed in probably under a day. The story lines get repetative and can get boring if you decide to do two seasons running.
The really good thing about the game is the improvement of the graphics. Playstation 2 format is much better the PS which makes the game even more realistic as in the character textures and detail of the superstars. Its a bargin buy for anyone and probably a must have for any WWE fan.
