cCc - Colosseum Battles
c.1 - starting Out

The first time you begin a game in Pokemon Battle Revolution in Colosseum
mode, you will have to create a profile which will take only a few seconds.
For each profile, you can have ONE DS game connected. Once you connect one
game, you can't change it, so put your best cartridge on. When you create
your profile, you will be asked which rental pass you want. I reccomend
Cyndy, but it's really your choice. If you don't have a DS game, then you
have to use the rental passes, regardless. But once you unlock more, you'll
be good to go!

______________________________________________________________________________
c.2 - The Colosseum Menu

Storage: In Storage, you can transfer Pokemon from your other games, or you
can view the Pokemon that you already have transferred.

Battle Pass: You can view your Battle Passes, create new Battle Passes, and
customize your custom passes.

Battle: Start a battle, either free battle with friends, or Colosseum battle
against a cpu player.

Nintendo wFC: Enter Wifi, enter friend codes, and battle people around the
world.

Shop: Use PokeCoupons to buy stuff for your custom trainer passes, or buy
stuff to send to your DS.

Profile: Edit your profile.

Save: Save the game to your Wii, or save your battle passes to your wiimote.

______________________________________________________________________________
c.3 - How Colosseum battles work

 Step 1: Choose a Colosseum.
Step 2: Choose a Battle Pass (either Custom or Rental).
 Step 3: Choose your Pokemon.
 Step 4: Battle!
 Step 5: Win or Lose.

Win: Move on to the next battle, save, or quit.
Lose: Start over with very first battle, spend a perfect point to try again,
or quit.

Step 6: Repeat steps 3-5 until you get to the boss battle.
Step 7: Win the boss battle.
Step 8: Collect your new stuff from the lady at the reception counter.
 Step 9: You're done!

dDd - DS Battle Mode
d.1 - Starting Out

Have all of your friends connect their DS to your Wii, by opening the menu
of Pokemon Diamond or Pearl and selecting Connect to Wii. Once everyone
is connected, select Start. Choose your battle type. Either two-player,
or multi-player competition.

______________________________________________________________________________
d.2 - Your DS

When you start a DS battle, you will have your current character & party
from your Diamond or Pearl game. When you battle, you will choose your
moves on your DS, then watch them on the B?ig Screen (or little screen).
Remember that whatever Pokemon are in your roster at the time when you connect
are the Pokemon you will use in battle.

______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
eEe - Battle Passes
e.1 - Custom Battle Pass
e.1.1 - Battle Pass Design

When you create a battle pass, the first thing you need to select is your
battle pass design. You start out with three Battle Passes, as you unlock
more, you can go back and change the design of your old passes. There are 32
passes in all.

______________________________________________________________________________
e.1.2 - Characters

When you create a battle pass, you're going to need a trainer to battle with,
there are 6 different trainers, with 3 skin tones for each. So in all, you
have 18 choices. Your character will have a default name, which is the one
that is on their Rental Pass, but you can feel free to change the name to
anything you want.

______________________________________________________________________________
e.1.3 - Customization

After you create your battle pass, you can customize your character. You can
have them wear any gear from the shop that was made for them, from hats to
bags to badges. You can also edit their catchphrases and their trainer title.
You can re-select the background design, and you can decide if you want their
full body or just their face to the front of the trainer card.

______________________________________________________________________________
e.1.4 - Pokemon

Okay, now. It's called a Battle Pass, so its gonna need to be able to battle.
It can't do that if all it has is a face and a title. Select your Battle Pass
and then select a faded circle to place your Pokemon. You can only use a
Pokemon once, but you can take them off a Battle Pass at anytime to use them
on a different Battle Pass.

______________________________________________________________________________
e.1.5 - The Back

Now, you're probably wondering what's on the back of your Battle Pass. Select
your Battle Pass, then select the double arrow under the card. The back shows
your Profile name, your birthday, number of battles you fought, your location,
and your self-introduction.

______________________________________________________________________________
e.2 - Rental Battle Pass
e.2.1 - Your first Rental Pass

When you create your profile, you will be asked to pick a Rental Pass. You
can pick Rental Pass Blue or Rental Pass Red. To get the other, go to
Gateway Colosseum, and select: New Battle Pass, then select the other pass,
if you win the Colosseum, you'll earn that pass.

______________________________________________________________________________
e.2.2 - Trading Pokemon

On a rental Pass, you can't take pokemon from your storage and place them
on it. But, you can trade Pokemon from one battle pass to another. So, once
you get both Red and Blue, you can start trading. Of course, the more Rental
Passes you have, the more variety you have. After a while, you should be able
to have your dream team of Pokemon.

e.3 - Friend Passes
e.3.1 - Obtaining Friend Passes

Friend Passes are passes that you get from friends. There are two ways to
obtain them. The first way is to complete a battle in wifi, it will ask you,
at the end, if you want to trade friend passes. Don't worry, they're unlimited
so you can't run out. The second way to obtain them is to have your friend
save their Battle Pass to their Wii-mote, then have them connect to your game
and use their battle pass in a battle against you. You will automatically
have their Friend Pass.

______________________________________________________________________________
e.3.2 - Using Friends Passes

There are two things that Friend Passes do. First, once you collect a certain
amount, you unlock more custom pass designs. The second thing they do is if
you select Free Battle, you can Battle a computer that uses that pass.

______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
fFf - Pokemon Battles
f.1 - Special Rules

When you start battling in the Colosseum, you will notice that there are two
rule choices, Level 30 Open and Level 50 All. For now, you can only use
Level 30 open, but once you finish all of the Colosseums, you can use Level 50
All. Each Colosseum also has its own rules besides the level rule. Some
Colosseums make you use your opponents pokemon, while others you HAVE to use
a rental pass, and some Colosseums are Double Battle only. Make sure to pay
attention to these things as you go through the game.

______________________________________________________________________________
f.2 - Basics

If you've never played a pokemon game before, I suggest you read this. If you
want me to refresh your memory, go ahead and read this also. When battling in
the Colosseum, you always have 3 choices, Fight, Pokemon, and Give In. Here's
some info on them:

Fight: Choose A Move. When you select this option, you current pokemon's moves
are shown, you should take into account your opponents type and level, etc.,
before you choose anything here.

Pokemon: Switching in battle. Switching Pokemon can be key to victory,
nonetheless, it can also ruin your chances of winning. Knowing how to use this
option properly will take some time, but it's definitely worth it.

Give In: End The Match. If you choose Give In, you will end your battle, and
you'll have to start all over with the first contender if you decide to come
back to this Colosseum.

______________________________________________________________________________
f.3 Type Trumping

Type Trumping can be the key to success in a Pokemon battle. Make sure to
use Type Trumping & Switching Pokemon to your advantage. For example, if
your opponent uses a grass pokemon, switch to a fire pokemon. If you KO the
grass pokemon, and your opponent pulls out a water pokemon, switch to electric
so you can have an advantage.

______________________________________________________________________________
f.4 - Pokemon Battle Stats

Here is a list of Pokemon Battle Stats:

HP: The amount of Hit Points your Pokemon has. If this count reaches zero,
your Pokemon has been KO'd.

Attack: The higher attack stat your Pokemon has, the better it does with
Physical attacks.

Defense The higher defense your Pokemon has, the less damage it takes from
Physical attacks.

Special Attack: The higher special attack stat your Pokemon has, the better it
does with Special attacks.

Special Defense: The higher special defense your Pokemon has, the less damage
it takes from Special attacks.

Speed: The higher a Pokemon's speed, the better chance it will strike first in
battle.

Accuracy: The higher accuracy a Pokemon has, the better chance it has of
hitting the opponent.

Evasion: The higher evasion a Pokemon has, the better chance it has of
avoiding the opponent's attack.

______________________________________________________________________________
f.5 - Damage Multipliers

Here is a list of all the possible damage multipliers you can use during an
attack:

Type Trumping: x2
Critical Hits: x2
Matches Type: x1.5
Resistance: x0.5
Immunity: x0

______________________________________________________________________________
f.6 - Moves

Here's some basic move info:

Power: The base damage of an attack before attack, sp. attack, weakness,
resistance, etc. is taken into account.

Accuracy: The rate, in percent, that the attack will hit.

PP (Power Points): How many times you can use the move before it's unusable.
Remember, after each batle, your PP is refilled.

Move categories:

Physical: Moves that involve touching the opponent with your body.

Special: Moves that attack with a force carried from your side of the
Colosseum to your opponents side.

Status: Moves that can be either Physical or Special, but they affect stats
other that HP, or moves that affect both HP and other Stats.

______________________________________________________________________________
f.7 - Status Conditions

There are 8 status conditions. Here is a list of them and what they do:

Burn
Caused by: A Fire Move (Will-O-Wisp, Sacred Fire)
Damage: Lowers attack strength and drains HP each turn.

Confuse
Caused by: Certain moves (Confuse Ray, Supersonic)
Damage: Pokemon sometimes attack themself instead of target.

Flinch
Caused by: Certain Moves (Fake Out, Air Slash)
Damage: Pokemon can't attack on that turn.

Freeze
Caused by: An Ice Move (Blizzard, Powder Snow)
Damage: Can't use moves until condition is cleared.

Infatuate
Caused by: An Opposite Gender Pokemon using Attract
Damage: Moves will fail 50% of the time.

Paralyze
Caused by: An Electric Move (Thunderwave, Zap Cannon)
Damage: Speed stat is lowered, and can't move 25% of the time.

Poison:
Caused by: Poison Move (Toxic Spikes, Smog)
Damage: HP is drained each turn.

Sleep:
Caused by: Certain Moves
Damage: Victim cannot use moves until condition is cleared.

______________________________________________________________________________
f.8 - Double Battles

A double battle is where you have two Pokemon on the playing field at a time.
In a double battle, you choose 4 pokemon instead of 3 when you start a
Colosseum battle. Make sure to not put out 2 pokemon with the same weakness
together. Try not to use moves which hit all Pokemon unless your partner has
a resistance or immunity to that type of move. another tip is to use plenty
of status-inducing moves so one of your opponents is weak, and you can now
concentrate on the other Pokemon.

______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
gGg - WiFi
g.1 - Connecting to WiFi

Make sure that your WiFi connector is connected to your computer. Follow the
instructions in your Wii manual to set up the connection. Select the WiFi
menu on the Main Menu of Colosseum mode. Select Connect. When you're done in
WiFi, press Exit to return back to the Main Menu.

______________________________________________________________________________
g.2 - Random Battle

For a random battle, you have to remember that you are battling a complete
stranger, so, to protect your privacy, Nintendo will use your character's
default name and catchphrases. Anyway, to start a Random battle, connect to
Wifi, then select "Battle with Someone". The level rule will always be level
50 All, but you can choose Single or Double battle, and choose your Colosseum.
You can choose to battle with either a Rental pass or a custom pass.

______________________________________________________________________________
g.3 - Friend Battle

In a friend battle, your nickname and catchphrases will be displayed. If any
of your friends are online, you can select their name and they will be asked
if they would like to play you. If they select yes, your battle will initiate.
Once the battle is over, the wii will ask you if you want a rematch. If either
you or your friend refuses, your Friend passes will be traded automatically.

______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
hHh - Storage
h.1 - How to upload Pokemon

To upload your Pokemon, select storage from the main Colosseum menu. Then
select Copy twice to confirm it. Then , turn on your DS and selct connect
to Wii. Your DS will then copy all of your Pokemon and send them to your Wii.

______________________________________________________________________________
h.2 - Refreshing

If after you upload your Pokemon, you catch a new pokemon, or one of your
Pokemon level's up, or an egg hatches, you can re-upload your Pokemon
yo your Wii. This is known as "Refreshing" your Pokemon. This is very helpful
if one of your Pokemon levels up drastically.

______________________________________________________________________________
h.3 - Items

There are no items in Pokemon Battle Revolution that you can get to keep. To
have your pokemon hold items, you have to equip them in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.
When you upload or Refresh your pokemon, they will be there with your Pokemon.
since items aren't native to PBR, the computers won't be using them. So using
items will be a definite advantage.

a new Custom Battle Pass. Also, if you chose "Borrow New Pass" you will unlock
that rental Pass.

Extra Info: After you beat certain Colosseums, you can return here and Borrow

i.2.2 - Trainers

- Trainer Name: Marcel

- Recommended Types: Fire & Fighting

- Trainer Name: Alec
- Pokemon: Clefairy, Aipom, Jigglypuff, Lickitung, Spinda, Delcatty
- Strategy: Use status conditions against his team of normal pokemon.

- Recommended Types: Fighting, Fire, Water

- Trainer Name: Brooke

- Trainer Name: Cedric
- Pokemon: Luxio, Vibrava, Aipom, Weepinbell, Kirlia, Pidgeotto
- Strategy: His Pokemon are trying to lower your stats. Fight back with stat
raising moves, or defeat them quickly.
- Recommended Types: Fire, Flying, Fighting

- Trainer Name: Joe (FINAL)
- Pokemon: Spinda, Drifloon, Mudkip, Torchic, Treecko, Delibird

in this battle, or use strong status conditions.
- Recommended Types: Fire, Fighting, Electric

kKk - FAQ

 - How many Colosseums are there?
 - 10, plus 1 DS only Colosseum.

 - What Pokemon do you reccomend for ______?
 - Look at the Colosseums section for info on the trainers & Colosseums.

 - How do you unlock ________?
 - Look in the unlockables section to find out how to unlock something.

 - If I have a question about the game, can i email you?
 - Yes, but check to see if it's covered in the guide first.

 - What can you do in WiFi if you don't have friend codes?
 - You can battle against a random person, but your name or catchphrases
won't be shown to protect your privacy.

 - Why do all the Colosseums have different battle styles?
 - To test you strategizing skills, and to challenge you more.

 - Can I still use a rental pass if I have a D/P game?
 - Yes, you can. You actually have to use a rental pass for the first
   Colosseum.

 - Even though you've covered the entire game in this guide, will it still
continue to grow to include more info?
 - Yes. I will be frequently updating the FAQ, thanks, and email if needed.

 - Can you have a two player battle without a DS?
 - Yes, you can. Select Battle from the main Colossuem menu, then select
Free Battle. From there, choose your game options.

 - I heard that you can rent Pokemon. Can you rent all 493?
 - No, you can't. You can rent 6 Battle Passes, each with different Pokemon.

 - Can you use all 493 Pokemon?
 - Yes, you can use all pokemon. You can even use hacked Pokemon, but in WiFi
battles, you have to use legal pokemon.

 - When does it come out in my country?
 - For now, it has only been released in Japan & the US. It will be released
soon in Europe, but I'm not sure about any other countries.

 - I heard that you can get Pikachu, Magmortar, & Electivire thru Mystery
Gift. I have only got Pikachu. How do you get the others?
 - Nintendo hasn't released the way to get those two yet in the English yet.
It might be possible that they are only available thru the Japanese version.

 - Can you transfer Pokemon back to your DS after transferring them to Wii?
 - There is no need. The Pokemon you transfer are only copies of your
Pokemon, so you still have the actual Pokemon on your DS game.

 - When I transfer my Pokemon to PBR, they turn into bad eggs. Why does this
keep happening?
 - Their EVs are hacked. Any Pokemon with hacked EVs that are impossible to
achieve in the actual game legally turn into bad eggs when you transfer them.

 - Do you have to spend PokeCoupons to change skin color?
 - No, you can change that for free when you edit your Custom Pass.

lLl - Thanks

Before I end the guide, I need to give thanks where needed. I used a few
sources throughout the guide, and I need to give credit to a few people also.

Thanks to:

Nintendo - For making the game.
My cousin - Helping with the Unlockables.
Serebii.com - Helping me spell the Pokemon's name correctly.
My brother - Helping with the Trainers' names.

And lastly, thanks for reading my guide. *CaliSunset*
