It's been a while since I last did for Carbon. Now this year, on the November 14, EA has released a new NFS, Need For Speed 11: Pro Street. I no longer support Carbon questions, please do not e-mail me with those questions! I have lost interest in Carbon during August 07. So please, enjoy the guide, and take your time to read. With all the great info I can provide. I will also try my best to keep the Spoilers as low as possible. These sites have my permission to post my guide on their sites: http://www.gamefaqs.com http://www.supercheats.com (All my latest version of FAQs are at GameFAQs regularly.) A little final note, sometimes I may not reply to your e-mails, mainly because I'm tired (Studying for Exams, 3D Modeling and/or Playing Games.) and/or probably it is late night. So please don't get the idea of me ignoring e-mail messages. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Section Lists [PS-SECT#-#]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* SECT 1-0: Controls of the Game SECT 2-0: Game Modes SECT 3-0: The Car List SECT 4-0: Starting of the Game SECT 5-0: Organizations & Boss Informations SECT 6-1: Battle Machine Challenge: Nevada SECT 6-2: Battle Machine Races (Part 1) SECT 6-3: Battle Machine Challenge: Texas SECT 6-4: Battle Machine Races (Part 2) SECT 7-0: Showdown: Chicago SECT 8-1: React Team Sessions Challenge: Autopolis SECT 8-2: React Team Sessions Races (Part 1) SECT 8-3: React Team Sessions Challenge: Ebisu SECT 8-4: React Team Sessions Races (Part 2) SECT 9-0: Showdown: Autopolis SECT 10-1: Super Promotion Challenge: Autobahnring SECT 10-2: Super Promotion Races (Part 1) SECT 10-3: Super Promotion Races (Part 2) SECT 11-1: Rogue Speed Races - Portland International Raceway SECT 11-2: Rogue Speed Races - Chicago Airfield SECT 11-3: Rogue Speed Races - Infineon SECT 11-4: Drag King Challenge - Infineon II SECT 12-1: Noisebomb Races - Ebisu SECT 12-2: Noisebomb Races - Tokyo Dockyard SECT 12-3: Noisebomb Races - Autopolis SECT 12-4: Drift King Challenge - Autopolis II SECT 13-1: G-Effect Races - Mondello Park SECT 13-2: G-Effect Races - Texas World Speedway SECT 13-3: G-Effect Races - Willow Springs SECT 13-4: Grip King Challenge - Willow Springs II SECT 14-1: Nitrocide Races - Autobahnring SECT 14-2: Nitrocide Races - Ebisu SECT 14-3: Nitrocide Races - Nevada Highway SECT 14-4: Speed King Challenge - Nevada Highway II SECT 15-0: Showdown: Autobahnring SECT 16-1: Showdown King Challenge - Nevada SECT 16-2: Showdown King Challenge - Tokyo SECT 17-0: Tips/Tricks/Hints SECT 18-0: Official Cheat List SECT 19-0: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) SECT 19-1: Easy Career Cash SECT 20-0: Official Soundtrack List SECT 21-0: Customization SECT 22-0: Credits/Contributors SECT 23-0: Contact, Contribute & Questions Hint: If you want to find a section quickly and fast, hit Ctrl + F on your keyboard and type PS-SECT#-#. Check back soon. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Game Modes [PS-SECT2-0| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Pro Street this year has changed lots of game modes and since it has stopped the street racing, they take it to the courses and closed tracks. Mode: Grip Racing Type: Grip Description: A normal single race, you vs 7 opponents on the track. No handicaps so everyone is racing whatever they brought to the race. First to cross the line wins. Mode: Sector Shootout Type: Grip Description: Sector Shootout is a unique challenge where the tracks are divided into 4 parts, each with a sector checkpoint. Drivers battle to compete for the highest points and accumulate them up. If you dominated all the sectors, you will be awarded for dominating the sector shootouts. The driver with the most points after the event wins. Mode: Time Attack Type: Grip Description: Time Attack is basically you, yourself versus the rivals to battle for the fastest time on the track. All racers will be given multiple laps (maximum of 3) to do their best. Careful though, racers are still on the track, so things still get pretty hairy. The driver holding on to the fastest lap time wins. Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag Type: Drag Description: Typically a Drag racing, in 1/4 Mile (0.20). Only you vs the opponent with all the other 7 racers. No traffic are involved and the Drag is taking it only closed courses. Mode: 1/2 Mile Drag Type: Drag Description: Same as 1/4 Mile Drag, but a little bit further than that. As usual, you vs the opponent, battling for the fastest Drag Times. Again, no traffic is involved. Mode: Wheelie Competition Type: Drag Description: (This is going to be fun for those who like wheelies.) Basically a 1/4 Mile Drag, but you are NOT competing for the fastest Drag Time. You are basically competing for the longest wheelie during Drag Race. The longer wheelie you do, the higher chances you will win the event. Mode: Drift Type: Drift Description: Drift Mode is back. You will be competing with other opponents in drifting, but not all drivers will be on the track. Should be easy on this one, but physics have really changed alot. Mode: Speed Challenge Type: Speed Description: Speed Challenge is mainly the same as Top Speed Run. However, you are not competing for the fastest speed, you will have to keep your car in control throughout the whole race. First one to cross the line wins. Mode: Top Speed Run Type: Speed Description: Known as the Speedtrap from the previous 2 NFS games, it is now reknown as Top Speed Run. All you got to do is try to push your car to the limit and maintain as possible. Battle for Speed to be the first and win. Official Locations (where Race Days will be held): -Nevada Highway -Autobahnring -Ebisu -Tokyo Dockyard -Texas World Speedway -Willow Springs -Portland International Raceway -Chicago Airfield -Porsche Test Track (Booster Pack only) -Shuto Expressway (Booster Pack only) While in races, you will get Bonuses for achieving a good progress in the race. Here are the following. ------------------- | SECTOR SHOOTOUT | ------------------- Dominating all Sectors: 500 Points Sector Record: Whatever Points you get after crossing the Sector. --------- | DRIFT | --------- Nitrous Drift: 100 Points Long Drift: 250 Points Stayed On Track: 200 Points High Speed Bonus: 250 Points -------- | DRAG | -------- Weak Burnout!: 0% - 24% Good Burnout!: 25% - 49% Incredible Burnout!: 50% - 99% Max Grip!: 100% --------------------- | RACE SCORE POINTS | --------------------- 1st Place: 4,500 Points 2nd Place: 3,000 Points 3rd Place: 1,500 Points 4th Place: 750 Cosmetic Damage: 500 Points No Damage: 500 Points Light Damage: 50 - 500 Points Heavy Damage: 0 - 50 Points Totaled: 0 Points *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |The Car List [PS-SECT3-0]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* This here is the official car list for Pro Street. However, EA this time round made changes to every single part and feature of the game, making it NFS 11: Pro Street. Many of you will ask: What's new in Pro Street? Are there going to be more ricing and stuff? Wrong. Pro Street physics and gameplay has now changed and followed as real life. Nitrous will not be available at all times, only a couple of shots. Damage is now realistic and not only scratches and broken glass. So if your car hit hard enough, you can easily total your car which ends your race. Changes have been made to this year's NFS. When you start a profile, they will ask to choose which level would you like to choose. You have 3 choices. -Casual -Racer -King Casual: Helps you in every part of the race and the game. If you are new to NFS, you might wanna try this level. Racer: A little more difficult, now it will only helps you braking in difficult corners. Choose this level if you know few parts of NFS Series. If not, stick to Casual. King: The master level, no helps. This level lets you feel the raw power. In my case, I have been playing NFS alot, I will be choosing King mode. Customization this year has changed alot. Remember, every modification you make to the car, AFFECTS Downforce Grip & Top Speed. Especially Hoods, Bodykits & Spoilers. Also, you can now paint the parts of your car in different colours. (Front Bumper, Skirts, Rear Bumper, Hood etc.) Vinyls and Decals are back. Same as Carbon, you can move, skew, rotate and scale. Create your sick ride upto 20 layers maximum. With option for mirroring vinyls. (Only on Vinyl Shapes, Teams, Flames, Stripes and many more.) In Career, you start off as a low-ranked racer with a pre-tuned car and dominate all the Career Races. Your job is to take over every single King, including the Showdown King to complete the game and become the Street King title. Need For Speed Pro Street is available on all major consoles (PS2, PS3, XBOX 360, PC, Wii and many more) and released on November 14. Get your copy today at EA Store or your local game shop. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |The Prologue [PROLOGUE]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* In the last 4 NFS series, you started with a prologue with tuned car and later on buy a stock car. ***SPOILER START NO. 1*** However, this time round you will start out with a pre-tuned 240SX to win a 3 lap grip race, INSTEAD of a Stock Car. You will be playing as a character, Ryan Cooper in the game. ***SPOILER END NO. 1*** The race should be easy, so I don't give any more spoilers on this. After you win this race, you will unlock the first Race Day, Battle Machine Organization Challenge: Nevada Highway If you want more guide on the whole career, scroll down through this walkthrough for the WHOLE information. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Organizations [PS-SECT5-0]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Throughout the game, you will be seeing organizations while racing. Some may have single disciplinary and some may have multidisciplinary races. *-----------------------------+ | Organization Name | Mode | |-----------------------------| | Rogue Speed | Drag | |-----------------------------| | G-Effect | Grip | |-----------------------------| | Nitrocide | Speed | |-----------------------------| | Noisebomb | Drift | |-----------------------------| | Battle Machine | Multi | |-----------------------------| | React Team Sessions | Multi | |-----------------------------| | Super Promotion | Multi | +-----------------------------* ----------- | Kings | ----------- This here is the list of all the kings, one of them owns a single org. ------------------------- | Grip King (G-Effect) | ------------------------- Driver: Ray Krieger Car: 2008 BMW M3 E92 One of the first kings you have to defeat them (if you went straight to beat Grip King). This guy drives a BMW M3 E92, with a unique paintjob as a "Grip Runner". --------------------------- | Drag King (Rogue Speed) | --------------------------- Driver: Karol Monroe Car: 2006 Ford Mustang GT Officially the current best Drag King in the game. This chick drives a 2006 Mustang and runs 8s in 1/4 Mile Drags. Something you shouldn't be foolin around. -------------------------- | Speed King (Nitrocide) | -------------------------- Driver: Nate Denver Car: 1965 Pontiac GTO You get to see a kinda look-like dude for the first time! Well, you've seen it some other time already. Nate's the best at Speed Challenges and he drives a 1965 GTO, certainly a big goat muscle car. -------------------------- | Drift King (Noisebomb) | -------------------------- Driver: Aki Kimura Car: Mazda RX-7 Probably a Jap chick, by the name and the jap car can tell itself. Drives a Mazda RX-7, probably one of the great drift cars in the game, and seriously has got serious drifting wheels & skills on that ride. ---------------------------- | Showdown King (Super Promotion) | ---------------------------- Driver: Ryo Watanabe Car: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X You wouldn't wanna mess around with this guy. Certaily drives as a pro and runs a special unique paint Evo 10. Though his car can withstand to all types of races when you face him. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Races Info [PS-RACEINFO]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* This is where you have to climb the ladder. Cooper has just won a race with his pre-tuned ride. However, don't think he will win all the races with that car. His 240SX is only limited to Grip racing. But, Ryan is going to Battle Machine, because of his successful win in the pre-given race. Select the Battle Machine logo Race Day and enter it. You should currently only have 10,000 in cash and 240SX for Grip in Garage. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Battle Machine Challenge: Nevada [PS-SECT6-1]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Cooper has arrived at the Challenge Race Day without his ride. This challenge is using the pre-given rides. He has a choice of Golf GTi for Grip and Cobalt SS or Civic for Drag to participate. Race Day: Challenge: Nevada (Battle Machine) Points to Winning: N/A Points to Dominate: 19,220 Points Record: 24,110 (Bradley Hunter) Dominate Reward: 5,000 Pre-Requisite: Complete the pre-given race at the start of Career. ========= | Races | ========= 1. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Cheyenne Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,440 (Gavin May) Target Time: 2:22:12 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,800 You only can choose Golf GTi for this race and go up similiar 7 opponents. Should be able to finish this race without problem. Just score higher than the record and you are fine. 2. Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: Dakota Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,520 (Paulo Cruz) Target Time: 1:06:06 (1 lap) Cash Reward: 1,800 Same previous race, except that you are playing Time Attack and racing the track in Reverse with a little obstacle. Finish in first to win the race. 3. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,490 (Bradley Hunter) Target Time: 14:85 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,800 In this race, you will be guided on a tutorial of Drag racing. Your choice is between Cobalt SS and Civic. Choose the Cobalt because it does much better than the Civic in Drags. Hit the Perfect Shift with the Nitrous provided, and you can pull off 12 seconds in the Drag. Don't forget about the False Start while shifting gears. Also, don't blow your engine. 4. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,630 (Joe Tackett) Target Time: 14:85 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,800 Same previous race in 3. Hit the Perfect Shift and use Nitrous, and the win is all yours. Challenge: Nevada (Battle Machine) Dominated! Willow Springs (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Chicago Airfield (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Choose a reward marker for dominating the race day. Pick your new drag car between Cobalt SS or Civic. You have completely dominated the first race day, a 1% Career Progress should be seen in the Career Overview. Now it's the time to upgrade your cars if you have cash. If you need money fast, check the "Easy Career Cash" section of the guide. NOTE: I highly suggest you take advantage of the "Easy Career Cash" to earn lots of money and buy new cars. The current cars that you have may be too slow to drive. If you took advantage and of the trick, you should rack up lots of cash and fast enough to buy a new car for Drag and Grip. That also include performance parts. Let's head over to the first part of Battle Machine race days, beginning with Willow Springs. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Battle Machine Races (Part 1) [PS-SECT6-2]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Cooper finally makes himself a name by dominating the Battle Machine race day. He now gains reputation and opened himself into new race days. He heads over to Willow Springs. If you took the opportunity to do the Easy Career Cash trick, you should be able to get yourself a decent Charger R/T for Drag and 240SX for Grip racing. Don't bother about Speed and Drift cars yet. Race Day: Willow Springs (Battle Machine) Points to Winning: 11,400 Points to Dominate: 22,800 Points Record: 28,640 (Rudy Chen) Winning Reward: 2,000 Dominate Reward: 5,000 Pre-Requisite: Dominate Battle Machine Challenge Race Day. ========= | Races | ========= 1. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: GP Circuit Laps: 2 Points Record: 8,250 (Rudy Chen) Target Time: 3:02:01 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,000 You go up against 7 other opponents in this race, the circuit is also pretty straightforward, so you shouldn't have problems. Even so, you might not even need nitrous for this race, as your 240SX can handle easily. 2. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Short Circuit C Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,130 (Ray Krieger) Target Time: 3:08:73 (3 laps) Cash Reward: 1,000 The circuit is much more tougher than the last one due to loads of slow turns and brakes. At the 3rd hairpin turn, you will need to be careful of your car, if not, you can slide out of the track and go out of the course. 3. Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: Short Circuit B Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,340 (Gavin May) Target Time: 1:14:26 (1 lap) Cash Reward: 1,000 Much easier from the previous race, although the turns here are nearly the same as the previous one. 4. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: Cheyenne Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,440 (Gavin May) Target Time: 2:22:12 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,000 Simple drag, although the only trouble you will get is the annoying finish line. Why? Because the finish line poles are so close to your Drag Lane, that you could even hit hard enough and total your car. Aim for the middle of the finish line if you want to be safe. Willow Springs (Battle Machine) Dominated! Portland International Raceway (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Chicago Airfield III (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Even so, it is not a hard race. It won't take long before you know the whole track. 2. Race Mode: Sector Shootout (Grip) Track: Center Field Loop Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,700 (Rudy Chen) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 1,800 This race is an introduction to Sector Shootout. Should be easy, just take turns slowly and you'll be fine. 4. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Airfield GP Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,820 (Ray Kriger) Target Time: 3:08:70 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,800 Lots of tight curves and turns, let go of the gas if you think the corners are too sharp. If done right, you should win easily. 5. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,870 (Karol Monroe) Target Time: 13:82 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,800 Another simple drag racing. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Club Circuit Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,950 (Ray Kriger) Target Time: 3:11:29 (3 laps) Cash Reward: 2,500 You go up against opponents that use 350Z or Golf GTi. In this Race Day, I preferred the 350Z over the Golf. The only downside is the Golf has much better handling than the 350Z, and the 350Z has pretty much spin outs. Still not too hard, but you can break the record easily if done right. 2. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Short Circuit A Laps: 2 Points Record: 8,040 (Ray Krieger) Target Time: 3:13:61 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 2,500 The circuit is much more easier than the last, but still with lots of turns and braking to deal with. It's pretty easy to win. 3. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: GP Circuit B Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,950 (Gavin May) Target Time: 4:14:59 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 2,500 Much easier than the last two, you can gain some additional time if your perfect with your turns and much. Again, 350Z is your choice. 4. Race Mode: Sector Shootout (Grip) Track: Short Circuit B Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,780 (Henrik Dehn) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 2,500 The course is much more wider, making you easy to take your time and get to the next sector. Of course, you can even overtake other opponents and get to the Sector as early as possible. Also, try to broke your old sector records, so you can earn more points to add it to your score. 5. Race Mode: Sector Shootout (Grip) Track: Short Circuit A Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,070 (Joe Tackett) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 2,500 This one is much harder than the previous sector shootout, though you might be complaining and grumbling to yourself why can't you break the Track Points Record. 6. Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: GP Circuit A Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,440 (Paulo Cruz) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 2,500 Another easy one. You can gain shave off lots of seconds from the last section of the track to earn you more points. As said, 350Z will do the job, so control it well. Challenge: Texas (Battle Machine) Dominated! Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Airfield GP Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,310 (Yoshi Suzuki) Target Time: 3:08:70 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,200 Another simple race, you should be able to smoke the opponents on this. If not, how had you make it this far? Just don't take the corners too fast or you will crash easily. 3. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,170 (Paulo Cruz) Target Time: 11:86 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,200 Lots of wide open space, you won't crash easily on this one. In this track, you will be racing 1/2 mile from a three-quarter part of a track of Nevada Highway B. While it isn't common, there's a bump that you cannot avoid, and you may lose control of your car if you reach maximum speed. My guess is to try avoid the obstacles. Also, if you start on the left lane, try to steer a little right, but not too much. If you start on the right, vice versa. 4. Race Day: Mondello Park III (React Team Sessions) Points to Winning: N/A Points to Dominate: 39,600 Points Record: 57,630 (Nate Denver) Winning Reward: N/A Dominate Reward: 12,000 Pre-Requisite: Dominate Mondello Park (React Team Sessions) OR Mondello Park III (React Team Sessions). ========= | Races | ========= 1. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: South Course Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,340 (Takeshi Sato) Target Time: 2:12:80 (3 laps) Cash Reward: 5,500 You have the only choice of an M3 E46, a big bulky Grip Car. The car is very hard to handle, thus making it a very bad choice for this race on a tight track which blows IMO. Just try to take corners slowly and smoothly, and speed up when you finish a corner. 2. Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: Togue Course Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,740 (Gavin May) Target Time: 50:49 (1 lap) Cash Reward: 5,500 This race is definitely the most retarded race, ever. You are forced to drive an M3 E46, like previously said, a big ass car that sucks at handling. Next thing at blows off is that, you drive in a small course with that big ass car and try to get your time under 43 seconds in a lap. I can't give you any tip, the only way is to take the turns more faster by cutting across the small path on each turn. 3. Race Mode: Drift (Drift) Track: Drift Course D Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 8,180 (Aki Kimura) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 5,500 You have the only choice of a Supra for Drift and the car definitely handles sweet. Though you can spin out easily, just don't try to drift the first corner at a 60-70MPH or you will go out of track. Easy to score. 4. Race Mode: Drift (Drift) Track: Drift Course F Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 8,270 (Tony Manilla) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 5,500 5. Race Mode: Speed Challenge (Speed) Track: Fukushima A Laps: 1 Points Record: 8,410 (JP Laurent) Target Time: 2:41:43 Cash Reward: 5,500 You get to use M3 E46 or Supra for Speed Races. The M3 E46 does perform much better than the Supra, making it an easier car to use in Speed Challenges on this Race Day. Take the turns smoothly and Draft behind opponents to slingshot around them if possible. 6. Race Mode: Top Speed Run (Speed) Track: Fukushima B Laps: 1 Points Record: 8,400 (Carlos Galliano) Target Time: 2:41:43 Cash Reward: 5,500 7. If you have yours, feel free to contribute. -Use AWD (All-Wheel Drive) or FWD (Front-Wheel Drive) Cars for Grip and RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) for Drift & Drag. -In Drag Races, try to aim for a perfect shift when shifting gears. Missing Perfect Shift could cause your car to lose power alot. -To do a wheelie, it can be done on all Muscle Cars and some Tuners. All you got to do is buy the performance parts that are level 3 (or level 4 if you get them). To test if it works, go to a race day and start a drag race. (1/4 Mile or anything). Give yourself a perfect launch and all perfect shifts with the use of NOS at the right timing. If you have done it successfully, sit back and enjoy. -In Drag Races, you heat your tires before starting the drag race. The more grip you achieve, the more perfect launch zone will be available to you when launching. -If your low on cash, redo races that you have already dominated or sell your worst car as possible. Use that amount of cash you have earned on Performance Parts instead of Body Kits, Scoops, Hoods, Spoilers and every other junk. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Official Cheat List [PS-SECT18-0]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* This here is the official cheat list for the game. A: You can store up to 20 Cars in your garage. Q: Can I use a Grip Car for Speed Races? A: No. Grip cars can only race Grip Races. If you want to race Speed Races, buy a Speed Car. Q: How many blueprints can I have on a car? A: You can have up to 3 blueprints on a car, with different tunings, setups, visual customizations. Except that you are limited to only test different setups for that Selected Mode. Q: Can I change my car speciality mode to another? A: Yes, but however, you will lose all the blueprints for the car and as always, you will lose all the cash you spent on the parts. Q: How many fix tickets and total repair tickets can you have in max? A: You can only have up to 25 Fix and 25 Total Repair Tickets. Q: Where can I buy those Fix and Total Repair tickers? A: They can be bought from the Marker Management menu in Career. Q: How do I get a free car marker? I seen it in the Marker Management but I cannot buy them. A: It can only be achieved by selecting the reward cards after dominating a race day. Q: I bought an AWD/FWD car, however, I cannot race in drift events, why is that? A: AWD & FWD Cars were nevermeant to drift in the game. Q: When autosculpting a car, what should I aim for? Lateral Downforce Grip or Top Speed? A: You will mainly have to aim for Lateral Downforce Bar longer if you are using the car for Grip Races. However, you will have to aim for Top Speed while autosculpting cars for Drag Races. Q: What must I build in order to get a powerful car? A: Most people would say BHP, however, BHP is useless, getting more BHP doesn't mean you will go faster. To aim for a powerful car, you are going to build Torque. Q: How many Organizations are there in the game? A: There are 7 of them. 3 are Multi-Disciplinary while 4 are Elite at a certain mode. Q: I am unable to put the COLLECTORSED& cheat code in code entry, what is wrong? I am on XBOX 360 Console. A: All major consoles, except for PC, does not support this code, because you cannot put an ampersand on those systems. However, the cheatcode has been disabled in the v1.1 patch. Q: How many cars are there in the game? A: There are a total of 60 cars. (Includes the 14 which are on Booster Pack) Q: Are there only Stage 3 Performance Parts? A: Nope, there are Stage 4. They can be unlocked using cheat codes or selecting the markers after winning a race day. Q: How many number of layers can you have for Vinyls? A: 20 for Maximum. Q: And for Decals? A: Again, 20. Q: Let's say, I bought a Hemi Cuda and accidentally removed the Stock Vinyl. How can I get it back? A: Add a new vinyl layer and find the Stock Vinyl in Stock section. However, you cannot modify the colour or move/rotate/skew/scale. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Easy Career Cash [PS-SECT19-1]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Credits to myself for having this extra section. When you start your career, you get a free pre-tuned 240SX and a 10,000 cash in your bank. After dominating the first race day, you realised your garage cars are shitty and your cash was not enough for performance upgrades. What experimented me is to find out several ways from the beginning to earn easy cash without cheats. The most common method that people will tell is to use unlockallthings cheat. You get 4 pre-tuned cars in Garage and unlock everything in the game. Sell those 4 pre-tuned cars, save. Then repeat the whole process. I highly recommend that you should not do this way, as using "unlockallthings" cheat will make your Career Savefile Corrupted. If you upgraded your game with Booster Pack, cheats are disabled. Using cheats is much easier and earn cash faster, but I don't recommend. I found a simpler way to earn cash, in this method, is to Re-do the dominated races in race days. But, due to only Battle Machine Race Day challenge is open, and you don't want to go on to any other Race Days, you have that only Race Day to earn your cash. It takes time to earn, because of each 1,800 cash per race win. But by using this simpler method, you can avoid the glitch of Corrupted Savefile. When you dominated the Battle Machine challenge, leave race day and repeat. If done right, you can earn over 20k in each time you do. 1,800 X 4 = 7,200 + the extra cash you get from Reward Cards. If you do this right, you can even make millions of cash out of this trick, and can be done at any point of the game. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Full Game Parts Explaination [PS-SECT20-0]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* In the past few games, you all have complained that it was rice. Some putted on a Spoiler and showed it to the forums, and they flamed it was rice and take that spoiler down. Some also flamed that the damage in the past was just scratches and broken glasses. Which was obviously. This year, as EA has decided to do better, they are making the customization as realistic as possible, including the damage. You have three parts to customize. -Performance -Visual Paints -Autosculpt Parts. Let's go into the detail. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Car Blueprints | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Every car you buy comes with stock blueprints. Each car is allowed up to a maximum of 3 blueprints. You are given the opportunity to make use the 3 of them to tune your car differently in the mode you selected. Remember, giving only 1 setup isn't enough for your car. You need to experiment with it for each race modes. One of my friends experimented with his 1971 Challenger R/T for Drags and he got with a 5.6s as the fastest he could go. Practice makes perfect, if you don't practice, why bother to learn? Also, take note, when you buy a car and choose a mode, you can choose to select another mode but this will reset your car and cause all your blueprints to be lost. Pre-Tuned Blueprints cannot be customized. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Performance Customization | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* This is where the play comes in for your car. Building up Torque, Horsepower and Handling. You have 5 different parts to choose in each category. By upgrading level 1 to level 2, your car will be much powerful and more responsive. Level 4 is only the Maximum part you can get. There is no level 5 or 6. Catergories: -Engine -Transmission -Forced Induction -Suspension -Tires -Brakes -Nitrous Oxide And now, for the 5 different parts in each Catergory: -Stock -Level 1 -Level 2 -Level 3 -Level 4 Once you upgrade your car with the Performance parts. You will unlock the Tuning Section which allows you to tune your car in detailed. Tuning your car allows you to give your car a better handling, performance and brakes etc. Level 4 Parts can be obtained using cheat unlockallthings or acquiring them from the cards after Dominated Race Days. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Visual Paints | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* This is where your creative and imagination comes in. The Visual customization. Your options: -Paint (Parts) -Decals (Zones) -Vinyls (Zones) -Wheel Paint -Window Tints Let's go into Detail. ---------- | Paints | ---------- This is where the important choice of colour you would choose. However, EA adopted a new feature in this section. Painting different parts of the car using different colours. It is basically split up into several parts. -Full Body -Front Bumper -Rear Bumper -Side Skirts -Hood -Spoiler You can go all wild if you want, but do not choose colours that do not match. If you think the pre-made coloured parts are not desired for you, use Vinyls. --------- | Zones | --------- EA came up with another great idea. To save the hassle for all car customizers who have to choose a vinyl or decal, then move around the car, EA has introduced to a new option, Zones. Zones are basically the vinyl placement part of the car. Most of the cars have 10 zones, unlike some other cars, example, Zonda, has only 9 Zones. In detail, where the zones will be: -Zone 1: Right Door -Zone 2: Front Left Quarter Panel -Zone 3: Front Right Quarter Panel -Zone 4: Rear Left Quarter Panel -Zone 5: Rear Right Quarter Panel -Zone 6: Front Bumper -Zone 7: Rear Bumper & Trunk -Zone 8: Hood -Zone 9: Roof -Zone 10: Left Door ---------- | Vinyls | ---------- The main customization design in the game. You can Move, Rotate, Skew and Scale them in any size you wish to. Some vinyls have the ability of the Mirror option, which will appear on both sides of the car. You will be able to decorate up to 20 Layers maximum. You have these options: -Stripes -Flames -Shapes -Tribal -Team Logos -Two Tones -Special Vinyls -Stock Vinyls (for cars that come with, like the 440 Hemi Stripe on Hemi Cuda) -and many more... ---------- | Decals | ---------- A new feature that EA came up with. Decals. Decals is basically the same as vinyls, but consits of all the Manufacturers decals and numbers. Unlike Vinyls, which cannot be put on the windows, Decal allows you to place anywhere on the window. You also have the option to Rotate, Move, Skew and Scale. You also have up to 20 Maximum Layers for this option. --------------- | Wheel Paint | --------------- This option here allows you to change your wheels paint. You can customize the paint of Front Wheels, Rear Wheels or all of them. You also have choices of the paint type you want. Paint Type: -Chrome -Metallic -Pearl. ---------------- | Window Tints | ---------------- This here allows you to customize your window color. Nothing special, but you have these choices for this. -Light -Dark -Pearl However, Sinister @ NFSCars.net forums noticed something pretty noticable. He informed me that the Window Tints on Dark category is not that dark. You could still partly see through the windows. I have confirmed his theory. But, that doesn't stop you from colouring your windows. You can try this method which Sinister has given: "for anyone who has noticed that the tint is still pretty see through.. a little trick I have found is to use the #31 aftermarket decal, (cobbs i believe) and resize it to cover the windows.. however, there is a problem with this. 1 - vinyls will no longer show up as decals cover vinyls (no way around this). 2 - would require being the same color as the body, (black on black is all i've tried) 3 - takes some tweaking, and if you want to try to keep vinyls, you would either need to make them work around each of the decals, or use multiple decals to cover the windows. personally I used about 5 #31s and have a pretty decent setup on my challenger. (not yet updated in showroom)" *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Autosculpt Parts | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* You guessed it. Pro Street is back with the Autosculpt feature as it was in Carbon. However, this year, there are tons of customization parts. With rims that you were unable to get in Carbon, they are now available in Pro Street for a little price, but without unlocking them! It is seperated into different catergories... -Bodykits -Spoilers -Roof Scoops -Hoods -Wheels -Roll Cages -Seats -Exhaust Tips EA has adopted a new feature called Windtunnel. This allows you to show how does your car affect when your car is customized with a part. However, it only affects to Bodykits, Hoods & Spoilers. Seats, Roof Scoops, Exhaust Tips, Wheels and Roll Cages are just for mainly decorative inner detail, nothing special much. Autosculpt this year certainly changes. All the wheels that were unavailable in Carbon are now available in Pro Street, like the American Torq-Thrust Stage II. You may also notice there are 10 Concept Custom wheels. Those were originally from Carbon, the Razor, Hex-5 etc. All the wheels can now be autosculpted, including aftermarket ones. You can change the rim size, tire tread size and how deep the rim will be. You can also customize the wheels in different rims for Front Wheels, and another set for Rear Wheels. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Damaging/Fixing Your Car | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* After most of all complaints from all NFS fans, they all said the last few NFS series damage was really disappointing. EA has gone through 1 complete year and came up with a better Damage System. Your car parts are divided into 8 Parts. Doors are not counted as EA did not try to take it seriously. -Front Bumper -Rear Bumper -Hood -Trunk -Fender Left (Front) -Fender Right (Front) -Fender Left (Rear) -Fender Right (Rear) While going through the race, you will mainly be getting all the damage effects. You get scratches, damaged glasses, damaged parts and falling parts. You have 4 levels of Damage Meter. -Clean Damage -Light Damage -Heavy Damage -Totaled! Let me explain the damage levels in detail. ---------------- | CLEAN DAMAGE | ---------------- Straightforward. Your car is clean, no scratches, dents or any other collisons. If you managed to keep your car clean till the end of the race, you earn extra points and it will count in the race. ---------------- | LIGHT DAMAGE | ---------------- Your car might have probably crashed into the wall a little and caused to have this status meter. Basically, you won't be worrying about this level, it's just a minor damage and performance. (Damaged Windows, some dents and scratches etc.) ---------------- | HEAVY DAMAGE | ---------------- You have probably slammed into the wall a little too hard, causing your car to be in this status. In your Speedometer HUD, a red light will glow warning you that your car is Heavily Damaged. Your car performance is totally Major Damage, including your Visual Damage (Hood falling off, Front Bumper hanging etc.) You will mainly have to focus on your car in the race, ONCE you get this damage level. It is strictly not easy to handle. ------------ | TOTALED! | ------------ Your final and foremost level in Damage meter. This one is certainly not to laugh, because you will be crying over the damage. Once you get to this certain level, you're out of the race. If you wish to use the car that has this damage level, REPAIR the car with only a Total Repair Marker or else you are not allowed to use it. -------------------------- Many of you wonder when you get the damage, what will you use to fix? You have these options: -Cash -Repair Markers -Total Repair Markers Now for the in-detail. ------------------------- | REPAIR OPTION 1: CASH | ------------------------- Basically, you use cash to repair your damage. However, it only works with Light and Heavy Damage repair. These repairs probably cost only 5,000 and not too much. But maybe expensive for the Expensive Cars in the game. Hint: There is a certain spoiler glitch where once you defeat all the kings in Career mode, all your damage repairs resets to 0. ----------------------------------- | REPAIR OPTION 2: REPAIR MARKERS | ----------------------------------- Another option to repair your car. You won't use cash, but you use Repair Markers. It only works for Light and Heavy Damage, same as Cash option. You can buy Repair Markers from the Marker Management menu in Career Mode. You can only hold up to 25 Repair Markers. ---------------------------------------- | REPAIR OPTION 3: TOTAL REPAIR MARKER | ---------------------------------------- The final option for repairing your car. Except that this is only available to repair cars that have been totaled As usual, you can buy the Total Repair Marker from the Marker Management menu. You can, as said, hold up to 25 of them. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Marker Management | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* In the last 2 NFS Games, you had the option of picking the boss hidden unique cards for Get Out Of Jail free and Impound Strikes. This year, since EA has developed a damage system, they also decided to have the Marker Management Menu. Here you can buy Markers to repair your light/heavy damaged car or totaled car in case of emergency. You have 3 Markers you can buy, but one of them are unavailable. (dunno why, it is just wierd.) -Repair Marker -Total Repair Marker -Free Car Marker (cannot be bought) Repair Markers are mainly for repairing a car with Light or Heavy Damage. Simple as that. Total Repair Marker is only used for repairing a car that is totaled. Free Car Marker is obviously, allows you to buy the car from the car lot at free price without paying cash. This is the only marker that cannot be bought, as for some bullshit reason. However, that doesn't stop you from getting one of these. You can still get a free car marker by choosing the reward after dominating a race day. ---------------- After reading all these, you had be thinking it is very cool. What are you waiting for? Go get the game and start customizing your ride! Or you can even test the demo game, if the damage system suits you! *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Game Official Soundtrack [PS-SECT21-0]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* The official soundtrack of the game.
