I only have 6 families (no spots for elephants, crocodiles etc.). Do I have the correct version?

I have got 1 DVD with PC game from 2009.

I have the same version-
2009 version- Windows XP, 1 cd for a pc
And I can tell you one thing-
I'm just as confused as you.
If you look at the awards in your zoo HQ you can see the map of your zoo; there should be five daisy-looking flower spots that you can't open or anything- and those are the locked animals (a.k.a- Elephants; Penguins; Gazelle; Grizzlies; and crocodiles). So those are the animals that are (I have no BLANKING idea how to get them) locked. I think you may have to win all the awards to get to buy them, but I've been asking that question for three years and still have no answer. So I'm trying to get all the awards, but there are a little over 300 of them.

Sorry I don't have a straight answer, but I R E A L L Y hope this helps a bit. ;)
