How could I level sonic up to 99 very quickly ( I am more than halfway of the game, got seven world rings). And what will happen if I have most of the gold medals and not silver will I be able to have crests?

You can use experience-gaining abilities to speed up sonic's leveling up. Keep doing missions over and over. Crest of Fire: Unlocks the power of Fire if you equip 6 Fire based skills.
Crest of Wind: Unlocks the power of Wind if you equip 10 Wind based skills.
Crest of Darkness: Unlocks the power of Darkness if you equip 8 Dark based skills.
