Question for Scooby Doo! and the Spooky Swamp

Hi do I get through the circle in the ruins.I tried all the tree stumps in different ways but unable to get anywhere.please help.stuck

When you arrive at the circle, only one stump will be raised. Place one of the two characters on the stump to lower it, and leave them on the stump! A second stump will rise. Take the second character and place them on the newly risen stump to lower it. A third stump will rise.
Once the second stump is completely lowered, take the first character off the first stump and place him on the third stump, while leaving the second character in place.
Continue switching characters back and forth until all stumps have been lowered, and the circle will open.

Actually 3 stumps are raised but the technique is correct. keep alternating players on stumps as they raise. the circle becomes stairs leading down
