I can't remember what level it is but I am at the stage that I am firing the gun whilst Helmet drives the aircraft. I have blown up the big guns already and am now at the stage where you fire at the defence hoppers and you are then faced with 3 robots and about 4 hoppers. I can't seem to get passed that part of the game. Plllleeeeeaaaaasssssseeee Help!!!!

I think you are on the Hopper Chase level, where you are chasing the Traitor. To shoot the other hoppa's down, you just keep blasting away at them, while trying to blast their missiles out of the air. the same is done with the large mechs Lazooka shots. you will eventually get past this level. there are harder levels coming up though.
Concentrate on shooting down the Traitor's Hopper. Once that is destroyed the objective is achieved.
