To use dark magic you have to use a dark magic character. The first one I got was Bellatrix lestrange. You unlock her after you beat her in a duel in year 7. To use the characters you collect you have to buy them in madame malkins shop. (madame malkins is between the weasley joke shop and the path to the leaky cauldron). Once you've unlocked and bought characters you can choose to play as them in free play. (free play is the mirror on the floor on the first floor of the leaky cauldron).

Yes, there is alot more dark magic characters.
