You use a pet. Either Hermionie's cat or one of the dog characters and they will dig it up. It is done like this with herm, you select the green spell in her spell circle cast it with a B button and out pops her cat. Just like using Rons mouse earlier you will take control of the pet and stand on the pile of paw signals and press X and hold it. Pet digs thing up or digs a hole. And you press b again to switch back
