Iv never tried to get a pet but I know how. If I remeber correctly,you have to hav between 6 & 9 hearts on whatever animal you want as a pet. I want the black shiba. But he only comes out in winter and fall. If you want the beagle, He comes out in spring and summer. Both the Beagle and the Black Shiba are at the church grounds mine cart near the graveyard. The Pyreneese is at the church with the black cat. The white cat is at the light house and the tabby cat it near ocianna inn. The border collie is above the mayors house and the school. Those are common pets.If you want uncommon pets check outfront of fudge forest,outfront of horn ranch,outside the witchs house, outside the entrece to the harvest ladys tree, and the entrance to the mines. At 3 hearts you can pick them up (with doing that, petting, and giving a loved item, and rubbing, hearts come up fast.) and at 6 hearts you have the choise to 'Adopt Pet?' and name it. When you have your pet you can teach it tricks with the Animal Whistle . Being 3 levels of tricks, it takes a few to get them there. But you can win the Pet Contest in the Animal Festival in Spring.
