Question for Harvest Moon: Animal Parade

I have played this game more times than I can remember. I forgot what triggers Bo to fix the mine cart??

Fin will tell you to go fix the cart. You have to of course view the cart and keep viewing it, until it is unlocked. But first you have to talk to Bo and he will tell you that he is starving, so be prepared every day you will have to feed him. Am easy was is to just feed him something like mushrooms, because it doesn't have to be anything fancy. As in keep viewing the cart, you do that to talk to Bo so, he wont take the food as a present and as actual food.
