There are an assortment of teams, each character has a certain role, or two, to fill:
Heavy Damage(Str over Spd):
Kain, Cid, Cecil, Luca, Gekkou, Golbez
Light Damage(Spd over Str)
Edge, Yang, Ursula, Tsukinowa, Izayoi, Harley, Ceodore, Zangetsu
Heal (self-explanitory)
Rosa, Porom, Brina, Edward, Ceodore, Leonora, Izayoi
Nuke (Magical Damage)
Palom, Rydia, Golbez, Calca, Leonora, Zangetsu
