Question for Endless Ocean: Blue World

I've just reopened the cavern of the gods and have gotten the commersons dolphin but I have no idea what to do now. I read something about karia foundation contacting you but is there something I have to do for this to happen or do I just wait for enough time to pass? Also if this is not the next step in the game then what is?

After you reopen COG and get the Commerson's Dolphin, that's pretty much the end of the game. If you haven't already, you can try to finish all quests, special requests, try to collect all the Coins and Salvage Items, and finish the Encyclopedia. If you have done ALL of those things already, then you can spend your time decorating the Private Reef, and modifying the Aquarium, and just swimming around.
