How do you connect the DS to the Wii to get the DS profile to th

I am trying everything that I can and I can't figure it out someone please help me.

What you do is when Rover says what do you want to do on dthe menu go the top one and say new resident. He will ask if you want it from the DS or a new character. Say DS and he should give you suffcient instructions.
