Wavetale Cheats and Tips

Take a look at our Wavetale cheats and tips to get help in this story-driven action-adventure game where you play as Sigrid, a young girl who explores the waters of a submerged city trying to unravel its past by discovering secrets hidden under the surface while also saving the islanders of the decaying archipelago of Strandville from its enemies. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

  • Gather Sparks

The currency used in Wavetale is Sparks and you should try to get as much as you can. Sparks are jellyfish-like creatures that can be found floating about on land which are harvested for their electrical charge and power all machines in Wavetale. Sparks are used to keep sailing routes open and most importantly to power the lighthouse.

    • Cyan-Colored Sparks

You must gather the cyan-colored Sparks as they are the ones that will help you to power different generators and lighthouses. They are also important to continue the story. Complete the side quests that can be found in every main area of the game will reward you a big bucket of Sparks.

    • Yellow-Coloured Sparks

These are not so important as the cyan-coloured sparks. These Sparks are not essential to the story, they can only be spent at shops to get Sigrid outfits. You will be able to find this type of Spark when traveling from one main area to another for the first time.

There will be certain slides that will have these sparks on them. You can get on these slides by using the grapple mechanic on the correct side. Using these slides will also speed up your journey.

  • Do the Side Quests

Resist the temptation to speedrun the different quests in Wavetale as doing so will make you miss the side quests that will help you to progress the game by giving you a large bucket of sparks as a reward.

These side quests usually involve finding a certain item or person for the NPC that gave you the side quest and you will be able to complete the task by doing the main quest itself. The NPCs that give you the side quests can be found while you are parkouring through different platforms.

  • Dive Underwater to Save Time

Diving underwater when the mechanic becomes available will help decrease the time it takes to get from one place to another. You will be able to dive underwater whenever Sigrid has a pinkish aura around her when she jumps off ledges or is going over the water.

Simply press and hold the sprint button when you see this aura around Sigrid to make her dive underwater. When you release the button Sigrid will stop diving and she will traverse the water at a high speed for a few seconds as your shadow friend holds you below itself.

  • Break Up the Gloom Clouds

Throughout the world are Gloom Clouds which will have all sorts of attacks you need to look out for. These can be anything from melee attacks to long-range projectiles. In most instances, you can avoid the Gloom Cloud easily, but it is more beneficial to have an easier time later if you try breaking them up.

Hidden within the Special Gloom Clouds are journals that will give you helpful information relating to the area you found them in.

  • There is No Fall Damage

There is no need to worry about the threat of fall damage when you roam around Wavetale. Knowing this will enable you to jump from the many high cliffs you come across in your adventure that look intimidating without fear of getting hurt.

  • How to Defeat Striders

One of the enemies you will encounter in Wavetale are Striders. This enemy which has huge legs that enable them to stay above sea level while continually hurling projectiles at you will only appear in water. To defeat Striders you need to jump at the correct time and attack them four times.

  • How to Destroy Gloom Clouds

Gloom Clouds that are in your way can be destroyed if you don't want to go around them. You can get rid of them by using your fishnet to attack when the surrounding outline is white. You will be able to eliminate most of the Gloom Clouds in this manner, including the ones thrown at you by Striders.
