I think the parts you unlock are random

Here are special parts:
Gold Glider: Collect 10,000 coins or connect 100 people via StreetPass

Gold Standard: Collect 20,000 coins, or get a VR higher then 10,000 points

Gold Wheels: Get at least a 1 star rank on all cups on all cc

Gold Steering Wheel: Win 100 races, using gyro control 80% of the time, you have to use gyro control throughout the whole race
