Last Updated: by Dennis

Trials of Mana is an action role-playing game that is a 3D remake of the 1995 title of the same name. The story follows six possible protagonists in their respective quests, which lead them to obtain the Mana Sword and fight a world-ending threat. You play three out of six characters, navigating field environments, fighting enemies in real-time combat, and making use of character classes. New to the gameplay and storyline is a post-game chapter with an unlockable class. Trials of Mana is available on PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC. Take a look at our tips to get help in the game.

Got a cheat or hot tip for this game? Found a secret, or a strategy for success?

Use your Class Strikes

Each of the different characters in Trials of Mana has access to special attacks called Class Strikes. These powerful attacks are available from the start of the game and will deal a massive amount of damage to the enemy.

Using Class Strikes will deplete one or more of the gauges that are underneath the character, however, when you defeat enemies or hit them with a strong attack you will collect CS particals that replenish these gauges which basically offsets their use. As it does not take much to fill the gauges up to 100% you should not conserve these attacks but instead get the most out of them. The gauges underneath a character will glow blue when a Class Strike is ready to use.

Reset Training Points

If you have second thoughts about the Training Points you have invested into a particular attribute there is a way that you can reallocate them to something else. In order to do this you must talk to the Phony Fortune-teller at the black market in Merchant Town Beiser. You will only be able to do this during nighttime (Shade). The cost of her services is equal to your character's accumulated training points times 150 Lucre.

Explore the World Thoroughly

Resist the temptation to simply look at the star icon on the map and environment that points you towards the next destination or story event. It is more beneficial to take your time and thoroughly explore an area before moving on as there are plenty of useful things for you to find. Keep an eye out in particular for chests and glowing spots on the ground whether out in the wilds or in towns as this indicates you will find goodies there to collect.
