Thymesia is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Switch, and PC. Take a look at our cheats and tips to get help in the game. Thymesia is a gruelling action-RPG with fast-paced combat and an intricate plague weapon system. Set in the once thriving Kingdom of Hermes you play as a mysterious character known by the code name 'Corvus'. Prey upon your enemies, wield the power of disease and find the truth in your own memories as you go on an epic journey to cleanse your homeland that is now plagued. Thymesia is a Soulslike game, that features multiple boss fights and a challenging combat system. It also includes various collectibles (story bits, lore) and key items such as potion formulas, ingredients, and plague weapons.
Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why it is crucial that you learn how to parry attacks and why you should use your plague weapons against tough enemies:
It is important that you understand how combat works in Thymesia. The enemies in Thymesia have two health bars and they each have a different role during combat and the healing process. All the enemies you encounter are infected by the Plague which acts as Armor and means to kill them you need to adopt a two-strike system where you first have to use ranged weapons to bring their guard down to cast the initial rift damage, and then the final blows by using claw attacks and combos. In order to kill enemies efficiently you must become proficient at this two-strike strategy, you need to be able to damage the enemies and at the same time not give them a chance to heal up.
It is essential that you become proficient at parrying as it is easily the best way to take down most of the game's tougher enemies and almost all the bosses. In Thymesia almost every attack regardless of how powerful can be parried, so make sure you put the work in early to learn this mechanic.
Your Claw in Thymesia is a crucial attack that you must master and use wisely in order to win battles. It can be upgraded by spending level up points on Talents which will boost your saber or claw damage and combos considerably. Adding these Talents is essential for dealing decent damage on many of the bosses, and upgrading your Claw to strike multiple times will help you blitz through the game's regular enemies. Make sure you invest in saber and claw damage early.
Make sure you use your plague weapons, this is special equipment that you can use to fight against the enemies. It is essential that you use your Plague Weapons, especially against tough enemies as they consume energy gained through claw attacks and can be used to deal massive blows of damage.
Thymesia is full of hidden places that will give you challenges. Navigate to the marked locations on the map and explore the region to find them. Exploring will also enable you to farm resources and gather Memories, Treasure, and sometimes Generals. Exploring will also enable you to find some shortcut paths, through which you can spawn back to Beacons or teleport to new lands upon death.
Scattered throughout Thymesia are hidden chests and treasures that lie within random boxes, chests, and barrels. Make sure whenever you come across these wooden structures lying in your path you smash them up as they might reward you with valuable items and equipment which you can use to upgrade your armory and weapons.
Once you complete the storyline of a specific area you will be given the option to either to proceed to the next area or return to the last landmark in the completed area and tackle its Sub Quests. It is recommended that you choose to do the Sub Quests as this will enable you to earn plenty of valuable perks and additional rewards.
