Through the Darkest of Times Tips
How is the game Structured
The game plays in turns and chapters. Every turn is one week and every chapter is covering a specific period of the Third Reich:
- Seizure of Power (1933)
- Peak (1936), War (1940/1941)
- Collapse (1944/1945).
Do Chapter Missions for bigger Rewards
The Chapter Missions are unique missions that the entire group can join in and offer a much bigger reward compared to the ordinary ones. In order to attempt these missions you have to collect specific pieces of equipment that are otherwise super difficult to obtain. These missions require a lot of planning and pulling them off will leave a huge impact.
Use the Workshops
The workshops are essential for your resistance group as they allow your members to produce advanced items such as books and bombs which will help in the success of the missions you plan.
Regain Group Morale
The Recreational missions enable members of your resistance to gain back a lot of Group Morale at once. When you begin a Recreational mission all members of your resistance group will stop whatever they are doing and join the recreational event. It is important that you keep an eye on Group Morale as it steadily decreases due to the constant pressure and if it reaches '0' the group dissolves and the game is over.
Improve Mission Success
You can improve the chances of missions being successful by assigning members to missions that have suitable skills. Also by adding optional items you will be able to improve the mission's outcome or help your members to get out safely if something goes wrong. Once you are satisfied with your planning, start the Mission Execution.
Heal Injured Members
It is inevitable that members of your resistance group will get injured during missions. Injured members become weakened and possibly die if injured again so you should heal them with a health pack if you have one available to immediately replenish their health, otherwise you will have to wait for them to get better over time.
Free Persecuted People
Make sure that before you free people from prison or camps you have a hideout to take care of them or a way to save them otherwise the Gestapo will catch them straight away. Remember also that people in hiding need supplies.
