Take On Combo Trials

It is worthwhile tackling every Beginner and Intermediate Combo Trial for your character, as doing so will teach you basic, optimal combos that you can execute in-game with little to no setup.

Learn how to Pushblock

It is essential in Them's Fightin' Herds that you know how to Pushblock. A Pushblock is a maneuver that your character can perform when you press two attack buttons on your controller that will push your opponent backward when they are attacking and can result in giving you the space needed to get away from a corner or escape a long attack string. A Pushblock that is timed correctly can also make your opponent whiff their attack allowing you to follow up with your own attack.

Understand your Character

Them's Fightin' Herds is not just a fighting game, it also has a Story mode you can play which is something you should do as it will help you to understand your character more. When you play Story mode you will experience a fun plot which comes complete with boss encounters where you can try executing basic combos or attack strings.

Play Online

Playing online is the best way to increase your knowledge of Them's Fightin' Herds so that you get the experience needed to grow. If you are new to the game and go into each online match with the mindset that you are trying to learn and not dominate your opponent you will walk away from the match with the information that you desire. If you find playing online intimidating you should stick to playing Story mode or experimenting in Training mode until you feel ready.
