The playing field in The Elder Scrolls: Legends is divided into two lanes and in a standard match these lanes will have different effects. The left lane is clear indicating it has no special effects and creatures played there can be attacked immediately whereas the right lane is the Shadow lane and creatures that are played there have Cover. When a creature has Cover it cannot be attacked by creatures on the left lane until their next turn unless they have the Guard keyword or they reveal themselves by attacking straight away (if they have Charge).
