The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores Tips for The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores

The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores Tips

- When you begin the game build your bonfire close to the forest so when monsters attack your villagers at night they will have a shorter distance to run to the forest to escape. Some of the monsters that attack will be easier to kill than others, but as you progress in the game they will generally become harder to deal with.

- Therefore, it is necessary to continually add new guards and equip them appropriately. Recruit all 12 guards as soon as possible, so they are able to hunt as a pack, and make sure you do not take them off duty to build. If you need additional workers you should temporarily take them from non-food production buildings.

- At the lower levels your guards will be vulnerable to enemy attacks, and they will gain little experience from fighting. Guards are trained to be more efficient through grinding certain production buildings, these include Loggers Camps, Trading Dock, Iron Mine, Coal Mine, and Clay Mine. When your guards grind at these production buildings it will raise their guard levels.

- Each of your villagers has specific stats that determine their ideal role, it is therefore essential for the development of your village that you assign them appropriate jobs. To determine whether a villager will be best suited as a guard or worker you need to look at their skills and stats. This basically breaks down into the following - strength is for melee, agility is for ranged combat, and intelligence for builders and crafters. You can always pause the game and move your villagers around if need be.

- It is recommended that you divide your villagers into alternate shifts so when workers work guards sleep and when guards are sleeping workers work. Doing this will always ensure you have a defense against attacking enemies. The best defensive formation is to build all 6 towers next to each other in a 3-by-2 block. If you build the towers next to the bonfire it will also help to keep the homeless villagers from being killed by monsters. Once a guard reaches level 6 upgrade you will be able to equip tower guards with the Bowman skill and your ground guards with the Shield-bearer skill and this should be done as soon as possible. Do not do this before then as there is the possibility the guard will be crippled.

- Always build your workers huts next to Hunting Lodges, and Hunting Lodges next to production buildings in order to help protect your resources. It is important that you always upgrade your workers huts as soon as possible. Make sure you prioritize your Carpenter and Blacksmith buildings as they are the only way you can get new items to craft. Make sure when you place your buildings you do so carefully as the positioning of these buildings can be vital to manage certain resources and affects gameplay.

- Although your villagers need food you should also make sure that you leave enough space in your Hunting Lodges for skins as these are essential for crafting and building. If you have multiple food sources you may need to limit them to make sure your Hunting Lodge(s) aren't full of food. The Hunting Lodge is an important building that requires a lot of progress, it is therefore recommended that you build a bridge as soon as possible in order to add another one, so you have additional space to store your food and skins.

- It is important to make sure you build at least one of every structure as failing to do so can prevent you from building something else. Building a farm for example is the only way you will be able to get a pasture and then a tannery. When there is a resource you need, but you can not find it anywhere it generally means you need to build a bridge. You can build bridges to your left or right and doing so will grant you access to places that will give you additional resources such as the coal mine and the clay pit. Building bridges will not increase the number of enemies you will encounter.

- Always look to craft new weapons, armor and equipment for your workers and guards at the Carpenter and Blacksmith, so they become more efficient in their role. To get the top-tier flaming/solar weapons and armor you need to trade for meteor shards, in order to do this you will need to build and staff all three Brewery's, the Trading Dock, and the Shipyard. It is recommended that you construct these buildings as soon as possible as you will need hundreds of flaming/solar weapons and armor for the final battle. As soon as you have built the Shipyard and Trading Dock you should send your first ship to Agatha to find out how good/bad your trade deal will be for meteor shards. A good deal is 2 meteor shards in exchange for 6 wine, a bad deal such as 1 meteor shard for 7 wine will result in you taking longer to complete the game as it will take you longer to get the required solar/flame gear.

- Don't attempt to build the Solar Forge until you are adequately prepared to try for the final battle. As soon as you start constructing the Solar Forge the final battle will commence.

Note: Although the game claims that you can send out your villagers to explore other lands this option is not yet available so at the moment there is no point sending your villagers out on expeditions once you have your three Sunstones.
