There are three currencies available, these are money, books, and gems.

Gems

The games premium currency is diamonds which you can either earn through normal Gameplay or by spending real money with in-app purchases. Purchases for diamonds ranges from $2.99 to $99.99.

Books

This is a pseudo-currency that is used for upgrading your taps and other bonuses. It works similar to the free-coin bonus that you can earn once every 10 minutes. When you tap you will earn books and your traders will also earn books for you. The more money you make per minute, the more books you earn per minute.
