Getting a Palico
The first thing you need to do once you have control of your character is to go to the Palico Ranch to the right side of the village and talk to the Meowstress so you can create your first Palico, a cat companion who will accompany you on your hunts. You can recruit up to two Palicos and they will fight alongside you and gather materials. You will be able to level up your Palicos by returning to the Ranch every so often to teach them new skills at the board.
