Survivor.io Cheats and Tips

Android, iPhone/iPad
Last Updated: by Richard

In this fun roguelike action game you play the role of the Survivor as you aim to defeat all the enemies and bosses to complete each chapter. Strengthen your character with top tech, gear, level ups and more before heading into the fray with your equipped weapon before adding more skills as you play through the level.

Head over to our Survivor.io Guide for some in-depth details on the best weapons in the game and how best to get free gems and coins, or scroll down here for some cool beginner tips which you can apply to all levels.

Survivor.io Tips

When you first load up the game and start playing, the concept is pretty simple, survive! But before you know it, if you are not well equipped, don't have great gear, not sure about evolutions or which weapons to pick, you probably won't survive for very long! That is where we aim to help with these beginner tips.

Weapon and Support Skills

Ok, first thing. When you start the game you begin to collect skills. These are divided into weapons skills and support skills. The support skills will have a weapon skill picture underneath it, only get the support skills that match the weapons that you have or want. Having matching support and weapon skills means that you can evolve those weapons to their strongest form.

Drones don't need a support skill to evolve, you just need to be sure to get both of the drone types.

This is just a brief outline of the weapon and support skill section, once you play the game for a bit and see those skills pop up when you collect enough of the blue and green dots you'll soon get the idea.

So, which are the best weapon skills to get? Well my preference does change from time to time, but the one that I have always liked since the beginning has been the Drones, you'll need to get both Drone A and Drone B, get them to their highest level by collecting more of them until they are both 5 star, then you may get offered the destroyer, which is basically the evolution of the Drones. Getting the Destroyer will also free up one weapon slot, and you don't need to get a supply skill either to evolve the drones.

Another good weapon to get is the brick, it is very powerful as it is but when you get it to star level 5 and also have the fitness guide, you have the opportunity to evolve the brick to the dumbell which is one of the strongest weapons in the game and great for hitting large lumps of enemies as well as the bosses. The fitness guide support skill is also a great support skill to get anyway because of it's HP boost.

Getting Gems and Coins

You can literally not have enough gems and coins in Survivor.io and if you can get a load for free then all the better! Check out the patrol rewards option for great daily coin rewards as well as equipment, and check out the various events and daily challenges to get stacked with free gems. All over the game, especially in the beginning, there are plenty of opportunities to get free gems and coins in Survivor.io.

Another great way to get free gems and coins is to complete stages in the game, the special challenges, main chapters, daily event, daily challenge all offer opportunites to bag free goodies in the game, it's just a matter of finding all of the free time to keep up and play everything!

Equipment

Before you start a game you should head to the equipment tab, it's the one at the bottom next to the shop icon, here you can equip a weapon, if you are just starting, and have it, I'd recommend starting with the Kunai, or if not, the Baseball Bat.

Equipment

If you are lucky enough to get the Lightchase or Void Power then these are probably the best weapons in the game right now. Check out our Best Weapons Guide for more info on the weapons equipment in the game.

You can also equip other items too if you have them for the right slots in order to strength your character in many ways. Level up your equipment by collecting pieces of the same type and by merging equipment.

So, look out for your favourite pieces of equipment in the shop, sometimes the items or pieces of the item are available to purchase at a discount for gems or coins.

Also in the equipment section is the outfit, you should also level up your outfit whenever you have the resources to do so as you'll be increasing your attack and hit point stats each time.

Outfit

The other thing to look out for in the equipment section is the tech parts, initially you should aim to fill each of the available slots with something, then as time goes on, merge tech parts and equip the best ones, again this will be to boost your character hit points, strength, attack, defense and overall power stats.

Gameplay

Initially you'll want to steer clear of the enemies and keep running, but as you build up enough power there may come a time in the level where you can more or less stay still and defeat all of the waves of enemies, just moving to collect the dots for more upgrades. To get to this zen-like stage in the game make sure you pick up the best weapons and evolve them! The Forcefield device is a great weapon choice, especially for beginners as it does a good job of stopping the enemies getting too close.

So, keep moving, try to plan a route, look out for the bombs that will clear all of the enemies on the screen, the magnets that will collect all the dots on the level and the meat that will restore your hit points.

One strategy to use is to not consume the meat until you need it, keep it closeby until you are low on health then grab it!

We hope these initial beginner tips are of some use, please check out our Survivor.io Guide for some more in-depth info about the game.
