What is the Order of Play

Although the Super Mario 3D All-Stars games may occassionally reference each other there is in continuity connecting one Mario game to another. Therefore you can play them in any order you like. If you don't have a favourite game which you want to jump straight into you may want to consider playing them in the order the games were originally released to see how each game in the series progressed from the previous one.

How to Reach High Places

By bouncing back and forth between two walls using his Wall Jump Mario is able to reach doorways and Coins that appear out of reach.

Common Enemy Rewards

How you defeat Mario's common enemies that appear in all three games will determine the reward you will recieve. Jumping onto one of these enemies will usually result in a coin while spinning into one will give Mario Star Bits. Make sure you use this information to your advantage when you need to collect Coins or Star Bits so you can dispatch the enemy accordingly. If you aim the Star cursor at a common enemy you can freeze them in place making it easier for Mario to either attack or avoid getting hit by them.

Mario Moves in Super Mario Galaxy

If you are playing Super Mario Galaxy and are not sure how to perform a move you can always press the button on the left Joy-Con to bring up a special menu where you can select the 'Actions' tab to see what buttons you need to press to perform Mario's various moves.

How to Play as Luigi in Super Mario Galaxy

In Super Mario Galaxy Luigi is a playable character that can be unlocked. In order to do so you need to collect all of the Stars and then defeat Bowser for the final time. Once you have accomplished that you need to head to the observatory and talk to Rosalina. Ask her to let you fight Bowser again and once you have defeated him for a second time Luigi will become unlocked. When you now select your game file at the 'Start' menu a new icon will appear on the right side of the screen with Mario and Luigi separated by a two-way arrow. If you now click on this button the icon above will change from Mario red to Luigi green. If you select 'Play This File' with Luigi selected you will start Super Luigi Galaxy and play as Luigi. Luigi starts with no Stars.

How to get Luigi 20 Lives in Super Mario Galaxy

When you unlock Luigi as a playable character in Super Mario Galaxy you can get him 20 lives by going to the purple Mailtoad at the observatory. The mailtoad will read Luigi a letter that is intented for Mario and then realise his mistake. To make amends for his error he will hand Luigi 20 lives.

How to get Watermelons in Super Mario Galaxy

When you pass 9,999 Star Bits in your inventory in Super Mario Galaxy all coconuts throughout the game will turn into watermelons. This is important because you will be able to defeat certain enemies and bosses easier with watermelons.

How to get Easy Coins in Super Mario 64

In Super Mario 64 you can get five Coins easily whenever you come upon a short upgright log sticking out of the ground. All you need to do to earn the coins is simply run circles around it.

Whenever Mario falls of a cliff in Super Mario 64 he will become hurt. You can avoid Mario sustaining any damage if you ground-pound just as he is about to make contact with the ground from his fall.

How to Replenish Health in Super Mario 64

If Mario becomes hurt in a level of Super Mario 64 that has water you can always replenish his health by diving underwater. This is because Mario's health gauge doubles as his air supply when he's swimming.

How to Complete the Castle Levels Easily in Super Mario 64

When standing outside facing the front of the castle in Super Mario 64 go towards the waterfall on the right. If you then climb to the top of the third tree from the waterfall you will get a Green 1-Up Muchroom which will give you an additional life. If you now enter the castle and come back out and climb the same tree at the waterfall again you will get another 1-Up. You can keep repeating this until you have 100 lives which will make completing the castle levels easier.

Get 100 Lives from Yoshi in Super Mario 64

You can get 100 lives in Super Mario 64 by collecting 120 Stars and then meeting Yoshi on top of Peach's castle. In order to do this you need to head to the cannon that is located near the pond on the front-right side of the castle and use it to aim for the castle roof. Once you are on the roof walk around the backside of the tower so you see Yoshi. If you then talk to him he will reward you with 100 lives.
